| 摘要 | Disclosed is a safety device designed to alert motor vehicle drivers about the proximity of a bicyclist. The device includes a flexible antenna or rod that readily and preferably mounts in a substantially horizontal orientation to the handlebars of a bicycle. A bright red light or LED at the end of the antenna emits light in a rearward direction and thereby provides a second point of reference to motor vehicle drivers when used in conjunction with a traditional frame-mounted reward facing light. With two points of reference, motor vehicle drivers are able to determine with increased accuracy the proximity of the bicyclist. The antenna is extendable up to about twenty-four to thirty-six inches beyond a lateral edge of a bicycle. The device warns motor vehicle drivers of the proximity of a bicyclist and creates a safety buffer zone for the bicyclist. | ||||||
