PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the flattening of a filling formed like a flat plate by solid cotton and to maintain stable cushion property for a long time by fitting a columnlike elastic body which has the same height as a thickness of the filling and is harder than the filling into many through holes drilled on its plate face to integrate them. SOLUTION: A filling 1 employs solid cotton made of 100% polyester and is formed like a flat plate having a predetermined thickness and a rectangular shape, and the whole core material 1 is covered with an exterior material and is formed into a known mattress structure. Many circular through holes 4 are drilled on a plate face of the filling 1, and an elastic body 5 having the cushion property is fitted into each through hole 4 to integrate them. This elastic body 5 is formed using polyurethane which is a foaming synthetic resin harder than solid cotton, its height is set to be almost equal to a thickness of the filling 1, and the elastic body 5 is formed like a circular column having a diameter substantially equal to that of the through hole 4. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the fatigue of the core material 1 and maintain excellent cushion property for a long time because load is received by the elastic body 5.

PURPOSE: To ensure a correct sleeping position while providing effective magnetic stiffening and finger-pressure stiffening by providing upper and lower side cushion members and a core member having a plurality of divided reinforcing ribs recessed downward and semispherical bodies escaping in the upper side through holes with the periphery edges of the upper and lower cushion members being stuck to each other. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of permanent magnets 6, press projections 7, bedded magnets 10 and cushioned magnets 14 in proper combination are arranged regularly on a core member 4, the whole upper side surface of which is formed with a plurality of corrugated projections 2 normally at longitudinal and lateral predetermined intervals to be covered with the upper cushion member 1 having a plurality of through holes 3 vertically extending therethrough. The lower side cushion member 21 formed with a plurality of corrugated projections 20 is disposed on the lower side of the core member 4 so that the peripheral edges of the upper and lower cushion members 1, 21 are bonded to each other to envelope the core member 4 therein. Further, the core member 4 has longitudinal and lateral reinforcing members 5, 5a recessed downward. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mattress wherein both bearing properties and cushioning properties are suitably achieved. SOLUTION: The mattress 1 is equipped with: a core material part 2; a surface layer part 3 that is formed on the outside of the core material 2 and is comprised of multiple nets 5 and at least one layer of a cushion layer 6 which are stacked alternately; and an outer cover 4 that surrounds the core material part 2 and the surface layer part 3; and is characterized in that the outer diameter of the strands 5a that form each net 5 is formed to become smaller as the distance from the core material part 2 increases.
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body pressure dispersing cushion material that can prevent a state where a block element is buckled and does not recover when the block element tumbles from occurring, and that the dispersion of body pressure can be enhanced by locally increasing the hardness of the periphery of a cushion base material where heavy load is applied by a simple method.
SOLUTION: A cushion material is provided with a multiple number of block elements 5 segmented by grooves D formed on the surface of the cushion base material 2 made of a flexible synthetic resin foam. Insertions 7 made of elastic synthetic resin foam are inserted into the grooves D of the cushion base material 2 to fill the grooves D in order to prevent the block element 5 from buckling and to change the hardness of the periphery harder where the body pressure of the cushion base material 2 concentrates.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

An apparatus and method are provided for a sofa seat cushion comprising a cushion core including a multiplicity of pocketed springs enclosed within an upholstery foam envelope. The pocketed springs are positioned side by side in a spring layer arrangement and are independently operable. A memory foam layer positioned above the upholstery foam envelope comprises a material capable of molding to a person's body sitting on the sofa seat cushion and then quickly returning to an original shape once the person leaves the sofa seat cushion. The memory foam layer comprises a gel-infused visco-elastic memory foam with a polyethylene terephthalate layer positioned there above. Directly below the upholstery foam envelope is an upholstery-grade polyurethane foam layer with a polyethylene terephthalate layer positioned directly thereunder. An exterior upholstery surrounding the cushion core provides a plush seating surface. |
