PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a seat part from being axially rotated between armrests by providing a seat structure having a forked yoke having a handle part and wing parts, forming part of side parts by the wing parts, forming a mounting structure for mounting the seat structure on a rail by the handle part, thereby providing a structure for axially rotating the seat part between wing parts.
SOLUTION: This seat structure has a seat back 6 and a seat part 7, the seat part 7 is axially rotated between a substantially horizontal using position and a vertical access position. The seat structure has a forked yoke 9 having a pair of wing parts 10 and a handle part 11. The handle part 11 is substantially formed of a clamp 12, and the yoke 9 supports the whole seat structure on a rail by the clamp. The wing parts 10 are extended upward to form the sidewalls of the seat back 6. Further, the wing parts 10 support pivots 13. The seat 7 is mounted between the wing parts 10 so as to be axially rotatable by the horizontally arranged pivots 13. A pair of independent armrests 18 are independently fixed on the rail 3 without supporting the seat back or the seat part.

An upholstered furniture system having removable and interchangeable spring and sleeper units for mounting on a substantially horizontal surface. The system comprises first and second spaced apart substantially vertical arm members, a back member which is removably attached to the arm members and a front member which is in removable contact with the arm members. A seat support member, which may be one of a spring platform and a sleeper mechanism, is removably supported by first and second side support sections affixed to the inner surfaces of the first and second arm members. A cover may be secured to the arm, back and front members by hook and loop fastening strips. |

An upholstered chair or sofa capable of being quickly and easily assembled and disassembled which includes first and second spaced arm members, front and back members interposed between the first and second arm members, and a seat member supported by the arm members and the front member without being attached thereto. Attachment structures are provided for connecting the first and second arm members to the back member, the attachment structures serving solely for securing the first and second arm members to the back member without supporting the seat member. In addition, in one embodiment of the invention the attachment structures also secures the first and second arm members to the front member without supporting the weight of the seat member. |

PURPOSE: To provide a modular unit for assembling a chair. CONSTITUTION: The modular unit is made of a plurality of members 2 to fill a space which becomes one shape collected around the axial line X-X. These members 2 use a screw 14 which penetrates through a hole in the longitudinal direction formed by a groove 5 in the longitudinal direction, and utilizing two locking elements 10, 15 arranged in both ends of these members 2, the two locking elements 10, 15 are firmly connected to each other by tightening the screw and by bringing them closely in the axial direction. At least one of the members 2 is to be coupled or formed integrally as the case may be, for making a chair. |
