2 Handcart carrying vehicle with sled JP5741092 1992-02-10 JPH05221321A 1993-08-31 INABA EIZO
PURPOSE: To switch the travelling of a handcart carrying vehicle to the wheel travelling and the sled travelling with an instantaneous operation by installing sled plates to the lower part of a load carrying platform freely to move, connecting between the rear end of the lower part of the load carrying platform and the rear ends of the sled plates with a toggle joint, and pushing up/down a pedal to support the sled plates at a position higher or lower than the that of wheels. CONSTITUTION: At the time of in-door travelling, when an operating lever 12 is pushed up in the vertical direction, joints A-B-C of a toggle joint 14 is bent to hang a sled plate 6 and auxiliary sled plates 7 at a floating position higher than wheels 3, 4. Namely, at the time of wheel travelling, the sled plate 6 and the auxiliary sled plates 7 are separated from the grounding surface. At the time of moving to the snow travelling, a pedal 12a is operated by a foot to push down an operating lever 12. Then, the joints A-B-C of the toggle joint 14 are stretched (a spring 15 interposed between the rear end of the sled plate 6 and the rear end of the lower part of the load carrying platform is extended) to position the sled plate 6 and the auxiliary sled plates 7 lower than the wheels 3, 4 for sled travelling. PURPOSE:To run on the snow by fitting a ski to a motorbicycle. CONSTITUTION:A front wheel 4 is fixed by a fixing gear 5, and is fitted with a ceter ski 19 and a tumble preventing side ski 20 beneath it so that it can be steered with a handle 3. A rotating force is taken out from a rear wheel 6 through a gear 8 to drive a crawler belt.

12 Sliding attachment for shopping carts US09917640 2001-07-31 US20030025284A1 2003-02-06 Terrence Roy Edwards; Donald James Maclam
A readily removable attachment for a multiple-wheeled conveyance, such as a shopping cart, comprises a flexible sheet having a mounting edge, a substantially smooth first surface designed for contact with the ground, a second wheel-supporting surface adapted to support at least one axially-connected pair of wheels of the conveyance, and a mounting means for releasably securing the flexible sheet at the mounting edge to the conveyance. When not in use, the flexible sheet can be stored by being releasably secured in a non-operational position to the outside of the conveyance, without releasing the mounting means.
13 Furniture slide and method of use US253721 1994-06-03 US5984360A 1999-11-16 Donald Jay Edwards; Donald V Edwards
A furniture slide for placement between an object to be moved and the flooring over which it is to be moved. The slide is formed of an elongate sheet of flexible material having opposing ends and side walls joining said opposing ends when viewed in plan. The sheet has opposing faces when viewed in side with one of the faces for abutting support and sliding contact with a floor surface and the other face having a compressible material fixed thereon for an abutting support contact with an object to be moved. A hole and grommet are formed on one or both ends of the sheet of material for applying force for movement of the slide. Preferably, the ends of the slide are substantially arcuate in configuration from side wall to side wall. The sheet of material preferably comprises a plastic material, preferably high density polyethylene material, and said compressible material comprises a rubber material. The invention further discloses a method of moving furniture which comprises placing a sheet of material having a reduced friction surface and a friction engaging surface between a portion of the furniture to be moved and the floor over which it will be moved, with the frictional surface engaging the furniture and the reduced friction surface engaging the floor. A second sheet of the same material is then placed under a second portion of the furniture. Force is then applied to the sheet of material to move the furniture.
14 All-terrain variable-volume multi-article utility carrier US538201 1990-06-14 US5033759A 1991-07-23 John H. Wix
A manually-powered multi-article utility carrier has a mobile body defined by separate spaced apart upright front and rear main support structures being rigidly interconnected by a load-supporting bottom platform structure, and separate auxiliary support structures movably interfaced telescopically with the main support structures. The main support structures, bottom platform structure and auxiliary support structures together define the capacity of a variable-volume multi-article holding cavity of the carrier body. Locking mechanisms releasably couple the respective support structures together for locking the auxiliary structures in one of a series of extended longitudinal positions relative to the main structures for varying the volume of the carrier body holding cavity. The carrier body has a generally upright orientation when in a freestanding resting position and can be angularly tilted to assume a transport orientation wherein it rests on a pair of ski-like skids attached thereto. A storage compartment is attached to the carrier body so as to underlie the bottom platform structure, and a pair of ground wheels are rotatably mounted at opposite sides of the compartment.
