PURPOSE: To move a shoe after completion of form matching with a last quickly by forming a shoe support with a form matching pin, toe support and heel tightening mechanism, equipping the shoe support with two side matching assemblies and a heel seat wiper mechanism, and swinging the heel tightening mechanism about a pivot as the center.
CONSTITUTION: On a shoe support 20, a work for shoe is located using a form matching pin 24 installed upright on a slide rod 78 in such an arrangement that the instep is positioned down and the heel facing up. The heel of this work of shoe is tightened by a seat fixing member 100 and a heel level gauge 110, and a toe support 30 is moved on the slide rod 78 so that fitting of the toe is established. Then a side form matching assembly is contacted with both sides of the work. When necessary processes at this stage are completed, for example sewing, nailing, etc., the pin 24 is sunk and the level gauge 110 is raised, and the work tightened is released and rotated round a pin 96. Thus the work can be sent to the next process quickly.

PURPOSE: To apply an adhesive only to a roughly cut area by deciding a range and a degree of rough cutting from a scan of a camera, and comparing them with a model.
CONSTITUTION: A camera C gradually moves along the axis parallel to the axis HT to tiptoe from a heel of a shoe sole, and the rough cutting completed shoe sole is scanned during that time. In an image acquiring step I, a complete image in a digitalized shape of the shoe sole is stored in a memory of a computer. In image processing II, a sample of a small window continuous in a roughly cut area is taken, and a texture parameter is decided in respective windows. In a step III, its result is compared with a figure model stored in the memory of the computer. A passage of an adhesive applying molding tool can be made different by a deviation from a desirable roughly cut area. When rough cutting operation is confirmed as insufficient to a large number of shoes, correction processing is calculated by the computer, and the passage is corrected along the related X, Y, Z axes, and insufficiency of rough cutting can be corrected.

PURPOSE: To control the rotary speed of a motor accurately by processing a monitor signal, generating a comparison value for comparing it with a value corresponding a signal from a signal transmitting means, and correcting a digital output signal, when the two values do not match.
CONSTITUTION: A motor drives a shaft encoder E, and the encoder E sends a pulse train consisting of signals that indicate the actual rotary speed of a shaft to a central processing device(CPU). The signal is compared with a corresponding value that indicates a desired rotary speed and is adjusted, as needed, by processing a digital input signal to be sent to a processor before a control signal is sent to an inverter I, thus correcting the mismatch between the desired and actual rotary speeds of a drive shaft, thus obtaining a closed loop system that positively associates the output rotary speed of the motor to the desired speed.

PURPOSE: To make a tool capable of operating sequentially in the reverse direc tion along the edge by providing a means of sequential control, and conducting separation movement in the relative direction and height between a shoe sup porter and a tool supporter as to the selected part of the edge of a sole.
CONSTITUTION: A tool supporter 26' is equipped with a housing 650 which makes a pivotal movement around a horizontal axis 31. A hollow tubular arm 652 sticks out from the front part of the housing, and supporting rod 654 is received into the tubular arm and is allowed to rotate in it. The front part of this rod possesses a plate 656 which supports an arm 658 sticking out forward. And each of them is equipped with a pair of links 660, 662 which are to make pivotal movements. A computer control system possesses a memory for a subroutine and operates to change correspondingly the distance between digitized points is sequence along the x-axis based on the length of a shoe 'measured' by a shoe supporter 18, and to change the ranges so movements along the y-axis and the z-axis, and also to change the pivotal movements (curve and inclination) of tool holder 670 around the first and second axis.

PURPOSE: To omit a setting process of a tracing moving path to apply an adhesive to a margin of an insole by using digital data to express a moving path of an adhesive applied margin for a raising processing at a guide time of an adhesive distributor in an adhesive applying machine.
CONSTITUTION: After an adhesive applied margin 108A at outer surface of an insole of a instep assembly is raised (grinding the leather to make coarse surface), and coated onto the raised margin with a belt shape adhesive, a shoe assembly 108 is heated to joint an outer sole. If the adhesive applied margin can be digitalized at a time point between a raising process and an adhesive applying process to joint the outer sole and the instep assembly 108, an operation to digitalize after raising processing can be omitted. It is because a digitalized data can be displayed at a third machine (a shoe sole adhesive applying machine) 103 at any necessary time, transferred directly to the third machine through a lead wire 98 to use or be memoried, thereby a much costy manufacturing process can be omitted.

A system for identifying workpieces by scanning them and "reading" details of their configuration is adapted for applying a desired pattern of material in powder form (e.g. toner material or a hot melt adhesive) to the workpieces regardless of their location and orientation on a workpiece support (18), using an electrostatic printer (36) e.g. an ionographic printer. This is achieved by pattern data (relating to the desired pattern) selected from a store being modified in accordance with positional data (relating to the location and orientation of the workpiece) obtained during scanning (Figure 2), such modified pattern data being utilised to apply the desired pattern of powder to the surface of the printing member (roller 38) of the printer such that, when the roller and workpiece are brought together the powder is applied in its pattern to the desired locality of the workpiece. |

A nozzle dispenses a material, such as an adhesive, primer, paint, or other coating, through a dispensing port on to a substrate. The spray pattern provided by the nozzle defines, at least in part, an application pattern of the material on to the substrate. An air mask port integral with the nozzle or a separate nozzle expels a mask stream of pressurized gas. The mask stream projects toward the substrate to aid in limiting an application of the material beyond an application line on the substrate. The air-mask port and the dispensing port may be moved relative to the substrate and/or the application line such that the mask stream provides a barrier to the material being applied. |

A machine may be configured to re-create an internal shape of a clothing item using a pneumatically-powered fitting device. For example, the machine, based on a clothing item identifier, identifies a description of an internal shape of a clothing item. The machine transmits an instruction referencing the description to a filling station associated with the fitting device. The machine, based on the transmitting of the instruction, causes the fitting device to adjust according to the description. |

Acquisition or pick-up tools that themselves aid in improving the ease with which images of an acquired substrate may be captured, and methods of operating such pick-up tools, are provided. The pick-up tools may include a pick-up surface adapted to interface with a foreign substrate and a light source integrated with the pick-up tool such that light emitted from the light source passes through the pick-up surface to the foreign substrate when the foreign substrate is temporarily coupled with the pick-up surface to create a silhouette of the foreign substrate. A vision system may be adapted for capturing the silhouette of the foreign substrate when the foreign substrate is temporarily coupled with the pick-up surface. The substrate pick-up surface may be formed of one of a transparent, a semi-transparent, or a translucent material such that light may at least partially pass there through. |
