PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle for producing a wig capable of surely engaging (hooking) artificial hair with the needle, controlling the hair setting pitch of the artificial hair with high accuracy, etc., in automatic mechanical production of the wig. SOLUTION: The needle 41 for producing the wig is formed into an ultrafine state in the longitudinal direction and vertically freely movable. The tip is formed into a trigonal pyramidal shape and blades 41b are provided on the peripheral surfaces of the tip. An engaging part 41c is formed just under the tip. The engaging part 41c is composed of a notched port 41d and a tonguelike notched port part 41e covering the notched port 41d. A guide surface part 41f formed into a tapered shape and continuous from the one peripheral surface of the needle in a straight-line form to the notched port 41d is provided under the engaging part 41c. The notched port 41d is notched in the shaft center direction of the needle 41. The notched port part 41e is formed into a smaller diameter than the maximum diameter of the guide surface part 41f. In vertical movement of the needle 41, the artificial hair is surely hooked on the engaging part 41c. Thereby, the relative movement of the needle 41 can be carried out at a pitch width with high accuracy. The hair setting pitch of the artificial hair can be controlled with high accuracy. A wig (19) is obtained by making a bundle of a plurality of strands of hair (1) of about same length, stretching the whole bundled hair to the pre-determined length by shifting the bundled hair in the length direction to random length, assuming the length of the stretched hair bundle as an apparent total length, forming a bent portion (5) of hair at the half position of said apparent total length, and by attaching said bent portion (5) to a wig base (18). Since the position of the bent portion (5) of hair (1) differs from each other, and the length (A) from the bent portion (5) to one end and the length (B) from the bent portion to the other end are configured to differ for each hair, the finished state of the wig can offer a good natural appearance as if the wearer's own hair were grown.

A vertically movable needle (41) so formed that it is lengthwise very thin comprises a front end in the form of a triangular pyramid, an edge (41b) formed around the peripheral surface of the front end, and a locking section (41c) formed immediately below the front end. The locking section consists of a notch port (41d) and a notch port section (41e) in the form of a tongue piece covering the notch port. Disposed below the locking section is a guide surface section (41f) tapered and linearly continuing from one peripheral surface of the needle to the notch port. The notch port is notched axially of the needle. The notch port section is smaller in diameter than the maximum diameter of the guide surface section. In the vertical movement of the needle, artificial hair is reliably hooked in the locking section, so that the relative movement of the needle can be effected with a highly accurate pitch width, thus making it possible to highly accurately control the pitch for the setting of the artificial hair.
97 AUTOMATIC HAIR IMPLANTER FOR MANUFACTURING WIG AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING WIG EP02758865 2002-08-22 EP1430798A4 2007-05-30 FUKUYAMA KOHKI
An automatic hair implanter for manufacturing a wig and a method of manufacturing the wig, the implanter comprising a means for supplying artificial hair 30 on the entire surface of a base 11 and a needle 41 movable forward and backward in a direction orthogonal to one surface of the base 11 the method comprising the steps of piercing the needle 41 into the base 11 in extended state and pulling out the artificial hair 30 to the other surface of the base 11, supplying the base 11 to the upper surface of a movable moving table 21 moving in a direction two-dimensionally orthogonal to the base according to the order preset at a specified pitch and bringing the base into the extended state, implanting the artificial hairs in the extended state, and releasing the extended state after implanting, whereby the needle holes due to implanting of artificial hair can be prevented from being formed continuously.

In a wig, a wig base (111) is made of an artificial skin and/or a net. A plurality of hairs (112) are planted to an outer convex surface of the wig base. The hairs are inconspicuous in color with respect to the wig base, at root areas of the hairs which are planted to the wig base. Thus, knots of the hairs planted to the wig base are inconspicuous so that there is provided a natural hairline.
