21 Hair-transplanting apparatus and method and resulting hair-transplanted piece US10820398 2004-04-08 US07165557B2 2007-01-23 Koki Fukuyama
A base sheet (11 ) of elastic material is stretched, and the intermediate portion of a hair segment is caught by reciprocating needles (41a) to form a shape-retainable turn (30a) at said intermediate portion. The turn remains on one side of the base sheet and secured to said one side with a first adhesive layer (111), whereas a pair of lengthwise hair extensions (30b) extending from the opposite ends of the turn pass through holes (11a), formed by penetration of the needles during elevation thereof, to beyond the other side of the base sheet. After a predetermined number of the hair segments are transplanted and secured to the base sheet, the stretched condition of the base sheet is released or loosened, so that it contracts due to elasticity to thereby reduce the diameter of the holes. Then, a second adhesive layer (112) is formed entirely on the said one side of the base sheet for fitting on human skin.
22 Hair knotting method using skin net and wig manufactured thereby US11189600 2005-07-26 US20060090772A1 2006-05-04 In Pyo Hong
Disclosed are a hair knotting method using a skin net and a wig manufactured thereof. Since the skin net is laid on the upper surface of a net and hairs knotted onto the net are pulled out of the upper surface of the skin net, knots of the hairs fixed to the net are not exposed to the outside and the bottom surface of the skin net, on which hair roots are positioned, has a texture similar to the skin, thereby inducing the natural external appearance of the knotted hairs.
23 Automated wig manufacturing system US09832570 2001-04-11 US06446634B2 2002-09-10 Kohki Fukuyama
Disclosed is an automated wig manufacturing system. A two-dimensional thin wig base (11) of fabric material woven by resin fiber, for example, is supplied to above a conveyor table (21), whereas an artificial hair (30) is supplied to the underside of the base. The base is subjected to tensioning rollers (23) so that it is placed on the table in a stretched condition. A reciprocating needle (41) penetrates the stretched base to engage the artificial hair, which is pulled above to thereby transplanted on the base. The hair transplanting operation in such a manner is repeated at different points, as the table is moved in predetermined direction(s) with a predetermined pitch. After the hair transplanting operation is completed, the base is released from being stretched, thereby allowing shrinkage of the base due to its material shrinkability. The base with the artificial hairs transplanted is then formed into a three-dimensional configuration to provide fittability to a human head.

25 Wig having colorless camouflage root portions US450479 1989-12-14 US5085233A 1992-02-04 Nobumoto Motoori; Kousuke Mochizuki
In a wig, a wig base is made of an artificial skin and/or a net. A plurality of hairs are planted to an outer convex surface of the wig base. The hairs are inconspicuous in color with respect to the wig base, at root areas of the hairs which are planted to the wig base. Thus, knots of the hairs planted to the wig base are inconspicuous so that there is provided a natural hairline.
