CONSTITUTION: A security medium system includes a security medium(1) and a security medium reading apparatus(2). The security medium includes a first layer(100) and a second layer(102) for preventing forgery. The first layer includes a light receiving unit(10), and the second layer includes a light projecting unit(12). The light receiving unit receives light from a light source, and the light projecting unit projects part of light received through the light receiving unit to the outside. The light receiving unit and the light projecting unit are composed of a light guide body which penetrates light by being formed with a transparent material. A light projecting path of the light projecting unit is arranged at a predetermined angle based on a light receiving path. The second layer is formed with a material having a refractive index different from the light guide body or is composed of an element reflecting light in order to prevent the penetration of materials except the light projecting unit composed of the light guide body by the light penetrating the light guide body. The security medium includes a protective layer, security related information about the security medium such as the sort of the security medium and a serial number is indicated in the protective layer. The security medium reading apparatus incudes a light emitting unit(20), a light accepting unit(22) and a signal processing unit(24). The light emitting unit positioned at one end of the light receiving unit of the security medium emits light to the light receiving unit. The light accepting unit positioned at one end of the light projecting unit detects a light path pattern outputted from the light projecting unit connected with the light receiving unit through a predetermined light path.
