142 PRODUCTION METHOD FOR A BOOKLET, AND A BOOKLET US13710673 2012-12-11 US20130147177A1 2013-06-13 Uwe BRAUN; Manfred MUELLER
In a production method for a booklet having an over-size cover sheet, first all the pages of the booklet are joined together and connected. Thereupon the cover sheet is at first folded aside and the remaining sheets are cut to the desired format. Subsequently, the cover sheet is brought to the desired over-size format in a special method, preferably using a laser beam. A booklet in which the cover sheet is cut in different manner than the remaining stack of sheets is produced according to the production process indicated above.

The invention provides a publication insert that comprises a sheet that is formed of four panels, two outer panels and two inner panels, the two outer panels having the same height and width, and the two inner panels having the same height and width, the panels being connected together via score lines, each of the two outer panels being extended by a joint strip along its edge remote from the score line connection with the inner panel, and the width of an inner panel being smaller than the width of an outer panel. The invention also provides a publication presenting such an insert, and having joint strips that are held captive in the binding joint.
146 TABBED PAPER FOR ANNOTATION OF DOCUMENTS INCLUDING BOOK INSERTS US13280728 2011-10-25 US20120091700A1 2012-04-19 Drevvis A. Shoffstall-Ridley
Transparent or substantially transparent sheets of paper or similar material suitable for inserting into a book or placed over a document are used to highlight or annotate a document without permanently marking or damaging the page. The inserts are thin enough so as to allow several inserts to be placed within a book without significantly increasing the book thickness or distorting the shape and size of the book when closed. Additionally, the inserts contain one or more tabs to allow a user to index and quickly find a particular insert and the corresponding page. An adhesive is present on the rear side of the insert to fix the insert to the page being annotated.
147 INSIDE LEAFLET OF BOOK US12815482 2010-06-15 US20110175342A1 2011-07-21 Sang-Mok LEE; Sin-Ho Lee; Byeong-Ho Seong
An inside leaflet of a book is provided which is bond-bound with pages of the book to provide an advertisement. The inside leaflet includes an advertisement printed part and a binding part. Catchphrases or illustrations for advertisement are printed on at least one side of the advertisement printed part. The binding part is configured to be bound with the pages along an edge of the inside leaflet such that the binding part has less binding portions than those of the pages in order to leave no traces or marks when the inside leaflet is detached from the book. Accordingly, since the inside leaflet is able to be bound to pages of various kinds of books and easily removed from the books without leaving any traces or marks in the books, the inside leaflet contributes to extension of the application range of advertisements and improvement of advertisement efficiency.

150 Method of creating booklet cover and booklet cover kit US11886955 2006-04-04 US20090026750A1 2009-01-29 Takemi Yamamoto
A peeling sheet on the back of a cover sheet is provided with a cover seal having a printed front surface is peeled off to partially expose an adhesive layer. A core material for cover is placed thereon. First side piece portion and second side piece portion are then peeled off and the entire surface of the first cover members, backbone member and second cover member of the core material for cover is bonded and fixed by the adhesive layer of the cover sheet for cover. Outer circumferential region of the cover seal for cover is then bent to the inside thus making a cover of a booklet. When a personal user edits electronic images and prints the electronic images on a printed sheet, the printed sheet can be fixed easily in a short time for making a booklet.
151 Information Page US12093079 2006-11-07 US20080309064A1 2008-12-18 Jari Herlin; Maila Korhonen; Teemu Pohjola; Taru Syrjanen; Mika Holmberg
An information page (1) of a security document, includes: an information part (3), on the upper or lower surface of which part of the information recorded on the information page (1) can be seen; and a flexible connecting part (2) with good bending strength for attaching the information page (1) to a security document. To ensure that detaching the information part and the connecting part from each other leaves visible marks, the connecting part (2) has a netlike structure, and the connecting part (2) is arranged to penetrate into the information part (3) in the immediate vicinity of the upper or lower surface of the information part.
152 BOOKMARK US12118633 2008-05-09 US20080277917A1 2008-11-13 Antonio C. White
A bookmark comprises a device sheet having first and second panels foldable between closed and open orientations. Each panel has an aligned weakened or cut region forming a clasp element manipulatable between a first orientation aligned with the panel and a second orientation extending from the panel. The clasp elements are aligned with one another when the panels are in the closed orientation and are simultaneously movable to the second orientation to create a multi-layer page clasp. Pages of a bound volume can be inserted between the page clasp and an outer surface of one of the first and second panels. A note sheet may be located between the inner surfaces when in the closed orientation. In some examples the note sheets comprise pre-printed matter.

A multi-page printed medium features an advertising insert and includes a first printed page and a second printed page, the first and second printed pages having facing first and second page surfaces respectively, and an insert located between the first and second page surfaces. The insert includes a sheet having a fold separating a first panel and a second panel. A portion of a first adhesive is applied between the first panel surface and the first page surface and a second portion of adhesive is applied between the second panel surface and the second page surface. The second portion of adhesive has lesser adhesion than the first portion of adhesive such that when the second printed page is moved away from the first printed page the second page surface separates from the second panel surface. The first panel and the second panel have a bending memory along the fold such that when the second panel surface separates from the second page surface the second panel assumes a substantially, upright, attention-getting two dimensional orientation on the first page.

An elongated flexible strip is woven through the registered openings and apertures to bind the price list to the catalog. When the double or single width front cover is folded upon itself at a center fold thereof, it encompasses the remaining portions of the price list, which include bound pages in book form.
157 Apparatus for the application of a strip along the side edges of a sheet US902448 1986-08-22 US4710084A 1987-12-01 Poul F. B. Ludvigsen
A quick and safe manner of making a sheet (15) suitable for filing, for example in a loose-leaf binder, is to provide it with a strip (11) along the one side edge of the sheet, said strip being provided with holes (14) for the rings in the file. In order to make the application of such strips (11) simple and precise, according to the invention there is used an apparatus comprising pins (5) upon which the strips (11) can be pushed down. Furthermore, on the sides of the apparatus there are guides (9) which can be displaced in the transverse direction of the apparatus and set in accordance with the size of the sheet, so that the sheet is placed precisely over the adhesive area (12) on the strip. In this position, after a cover foil has been removed from the adhesive (12), the sheet can be pressed down for sticking, after which the sheet with the strip applied can be removed from the apparatus and used for filing.
