An article may include a flexible hinge comprising a first optical feature. The article also may include a biodata page comprising a second optical feature. The flexible hinge may be attached to a surface of the biodata page, and the second optical feature is substantially aligned with the first optical feature. The combination of the first optical feature and the second optical feature provides an optical effect, which may be destroyed or damaged if the flexible hinge is moved relative to the biodata page, e.g., if the flexible hinge is separated from the biodata page.
203 | COMPOSITE HINGE SHEET FOR LASER-MARKING MULTILAYER LAMINATE FOR ELECTRONIC PASSPORT, LASER-MARKING MULTILAYER LAMINATE FOR ELECTRONIC PASSPORT, AND ELECTRONIC PASSPORT | EP10821760 | 2010-02-23 | EP2487029A4 | 2015-08-12 | SAKAGAMI TOSHINORI; WATANABE TAKASHI; SUEISHI YUUKI; HASHIMOTO AKIRA |
Disclosed is a composite hinge sheet including thermoplastic resin layers 5 made of a thermoplastic resin formed on both surfaces of a woven-fabric like sheet 3 having multiple openings therein. The woven-fabric like sheet 3 includes woven fabric or non-woven fabric made of at least one type selected from polyester, polyamide and polypropylene. The thermoplastic resin layers 5 include, as a raw material, resin having Shore A surface hardness flexibility of 85 or greater and Shore D surface hardness flexibility of less than 70. A part of the thermoplastic resin enters the openings in the woven-fabric like sheet 5, thus blocking all the openings, so that the thermoplastic resin layers 5 are integrated with the woven-fabric like sheet 3. The composite hinge sheet has excellent tearing and tensile strength, is resistant to light and heat in the binding part thereof, and has excellent resistance to repeated bending.

An inside leaflet of a book is provided which is bond-bound with pages of the book to provide an advertisement. The inside leaflet includes an advertisement printed part and a binding part. Catchphrases or illustrations for advertisement are printed on at least one side of the advertisement printed part. The binding part is configured to be bound with the pages along an edge of the inside leaflet such that the binding part has less binding portions than those of the pages in order to leave no traces or marks when the inside leaflet is detached from the book. Accordingly, since the inside leaflet is able to be bound to pages of various kinds of books and easily removed from the books without leaving any traces or marks in the books, the inside leaflet contributes to extension of the application range of advertisements and improvement of advertisement efficiency.
