A chart (10) is provided with a plurality of zones (12) within which are located groups of markers (14), which can denominate any month of the year. A series of labels (22,24) representing events, objects or times are of a shape and form to overlie all or part of a marker. The chart could he used for child development, monitoring the progress of a patient or the like. It has the advantage of being configurable and easily visible.

222 A BOOK EP00909535.7 2000-03-15 EP1265755A1 2002-12-18 Morgan, Rowland
A book (10) comprising a plurality of pages in a stack (11) and a sleeve (12) surrounding a portion of each of said pages, said pages being slidable relative to said sleeve (12) and each other, and said book further comprising means for preventing said pages from being slidably removable from said sleeve (12).
223 A PERFORATING BLADE AND SIGNATURE EP95933889.8 1995-09-07 EP0785873B1 2001-12-05 FOSTER, Thomas; MICHALK, Rodney; SUMMERS, Scott
A perforating blade (10), and signature (32) produced therewith, having a unitary blade (12) that is very narrow in width in proportion to its length, with a cutting edge (16) along one longitudinal side. The cutting edge (16) comprises a combination of a number of spaced-apart straight (22) and angled (20) sections arranged so that the angled sections (20) angle inwardly toward a center point (18) on the perforating blade and along a single side of the cutting edge only. Since the angled sections (20) are all angled to the same side of the blade, the resulting fold line (26) has cuts only on one side (29) thereof. The angled cuts result in ties (28) that twist easily, and that, therefore, result in fold lines (26) that fold cleanly without gusseting or binding.
224 A FOLDED BOOKLET AND BLANK THEREFOR EP99958349.5 1999-12-02 EP1135261A2 2001-09-26 TYTHE, John

The invention involves information association technology of cross-media product, in particular to a plane publication product of an Interactive Interconnected Systems. The plane publication product is formed by associated data and media information data synthesis. The features are: The Interactive Interconnected Systems is a composite of an electronic reading device and an electronic transmitter-receiver. A plane publication product contains others publication information. The Interactive Interconnected Systems includes an electronic reading device and an electronic transmitter-receiver. The multimedia information signal is a combination of various media data. The associated data is an URI (Uniform Resource Identifier). The electronic transmitter-receiver includes an associated data reception circuit, an associated data transmission circuit and a central processing unit (with memory). The associated data reception circuit is attached with a short-distance signal transmission-reception circuit. The electronic transmitter-receiver is used to control the transceive of the associated data from the decomposition multimedia information signal. It receives the associated data decomposed by the transmission circuit of the electronic reading device, and then transmits the associated data to external data storage via remote communication technology. This can obtain the associated digital resource in a quick and efficiency way.

The first saddle-stitch substrate includes a light-transmitting region, and an optical functional unit having a polarization or phase modulation function is provided to the light-transmitting region. In the second saddle-stitch substrate, a latent image, which is manifested by allowing the optical functional unit to operate, is provided to a surface that is opposite to the first saddle-stitch substrate at a position corresponding to the optical functional unit.
237 Changeable book assembly EP13191113.3 2013-10-31 EP2728568A1 2014-05-07 Lam, Cannie

A changeable book system including a book chassis configured to receive a plurality of books. The book chassis includes one or more membrane switches aligned with identifier indicia located on one or more pages of a book when the book is positioned adjacent to the book chassis. A reader may activate one or more membrane switches by pressing the corresponding identifier indicia. Activation of a membrane switch causes the book chassis to perform a function and/or produce a sound.

238 System and method of image augmentation EP12196280.7 2012-12-10 EP2626118A3 2013-11-13 Sykes, William Oliver; Lucas-Woodley, Thomas; Lord, Nicholas Andrew; Bain, Adrien

A book for use in an augmented reality system comprises a first page on a first leaf of the book comprising a first fiduciary marker for indicating the orientation of the book to a recognition system, and a second page on a second leaf of the book comprising a second fiduciary marker for indicating the orientation of the book to a recognition system and also page marker for indicating the page number of the second page to the recognition system, wherein the orientation of the page marker is ambiguous without reference to a fiduciary marker, and the page marker is positioned on the second page closer to an edge of the page than the second fiduciary marker so as to become visible to the recognition system before the second fiduciary marker, as the book is turned to the second page; meanwhile, an entertainment device comprises a video input for receiving captured video frames comprising an image of the book, a fiduciary marker recognition processor operable to recognise the first fiduciary marker printed on the first page of the book and operable to estimate an orientation of the book based upon the recognised first fiduciary marker, and a page marker recognition processor operable to recognise the page marker printed on the second page of the book with reference to the estimated orientation of the book as based upon the recognised first fiduciary marker printed on the first page of the book.
