PURPOSE:To certainly perform recording different in hue, to simplify a structure to make manufacturing easy and to realize cost reduction to a large extent, by providing a heating means for keeping temp. moving along with a carriage and arranging the heat generator provided to the heating means for keeping temp. between the heat generator of a thermal head and a position where a thermal transfer material is released from recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A platen 25 is integrated with a carriage 7 through a support member and a heating means 26 for keeping temp. is provided in opposed relation to a thermal head 17 and arranged so that recording paper 2 being a recording medium is held between the thermal head 17 and the heating means 26. A heat generator 27 is provided to said heating means 26 and the area thereof has a size capable of sufficiently covering one character recorded. The distance l' between the heat generator (heater part) 17a of the thermal head 17 and a position where a thermal transfer material 19 is released from the recording paper 2, that is, a position where the thermal transfer material 19 slips away from the gap between the thermal head 17 and the heating means 26 is selected so as to obtain a sufficient distance necessary for cooling after only the heat generator 17a is heated.

PURPOSE:To achieve a simultaneous printing of two line printer papers by inserting one of the doubled line printer papers into a space created between doubled ribbons at a printing section while the other is arranged on the outer surface of the ribbon. CONSTITUTION:Normal line printer papers are piled in double and the line printer paper 11 is passed between ribbons 8 and 9 while the line printer paper 12 is laid on the back of the outer ribbon 9. Then, two papers are printed simultaneously with a dot printer head 3. A resin sheet 10 is passed between the line printer paper 11 and the ribbon 9 to prevent printing on the back of the line printer paper 11.
