81 LAMINATED MATERIAL AND METHOD OF BENDING LAMINATED MATERIAL EP00902117 2000-02-07 EP1160078A4 2002-09-25 OKADA NORIHISA; YOSHIZAKI KIYOSHI
A laminated material relatively large in thickness and having a curved surface of small radius, wherein a laminated material (170) as a raw material is provided in which surface plates (181, 182) are fixed to both surfaces of a core material (183) and the surface plate (181) on the internal side of an arc is not fixed to the core material (183) and, with one end side of the laminated material (170) fixed to frames (30, 40), the other end of the surface plate (181) is moved in the direction apart from the core material (183) so as to bend it in arc-shape, the other end being not fixed to the core material (183).
82 GITTER, INSBESONDERE FLÄCHIGES GITTER (GITTERMATTE) EP95940146.4 1995-12-06 EP0797486B1 1998-06-17 KLÖCKNER, Albrecht
In a grid, in particular a flat grid (grating) made of metal (such as expanded metal), paper, cardboard or plastic, the grid nodes (1) are interconnected by crossbars (2) that extend as the rays of a star between adjacent grid nodes. The crossbars (2) are corrugated or accordion creased between the grid nodes (1), so that the distance between the nodes (1) may be increased or decreased when outer forces are applied on the grid.
83 An expandable window covering EP93103550.5 1991-09-05 EP0553888B1 1995-02-15 Goodhue, William Velte
84 An expandable window covering EP93103550.5 1991-09-05 EP0553888A1 1993-08-04 Goodhue, William Velte

A light control window covering comprising a first relatively translucent sheet (50) material, second relatively translucent sheets (51) of material, disposed parallel to said first sheet, a plurality of strips (60) of relatively opaque material, each have edge portions, said strips having their edge portions adhesively bonded to said first sheet (50) and said second sheet (51), respectively, whereby central portions of said strips, in a first closed position of said window covering, are substantially planar and extend substantially parallel to the first and second sheet (50,51), effective at least partially to block transmission of light and, in the second position of said window covering extend generally transverse to said first and second sheets, effective to transmit light between said strips.

85 PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR FABRICATING HONEYCOMB MATERIAL EP91916126.0 1991-09-05 EP0500880A1 1992-09-02 GOODHUE, William, Velte
86 PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR FABRICATING HONEYCOMB MATERIAL PCT/NL9100163 1991-09-05 WO9204182A3 1992-05-29 GOODHUE WILLIAM VELTE
A process and apparatus for making expandable honeycomb structures suitable for use as window coverings. In one embodiment, folded tubular strips (15) with adhesive lines are fed continuously through a cutter (25) which cuts them into predetermined lengths. The cut strips are then accelerated to a stacker (32) for further processing before the next cut strip arrives. In another embodiment, webs of material are fed continuously in a downstream direction, adhesive lines are applied, a middle web is slitted into strips, and the strips bonded along opposite edges to the outer webs. By choosing for the outer webs transparent or porous material, and for the middle web opaque material, a light or air controlling honeycomb structure results.
87 COMPRESSIBLE STRUCTURAL PANEL PCT/US0112998 2001-04-23 WO0181684A3 2002-02-07 COLSON WENDELL B; SWISZCZ PAUL G; KUPERUS KO
A structure panel (50) for use in building structures or in the formation, finish or decoration thereof includes an outer sheet (54) and a connector sheet (56) with a plurality of collapsible or compressible dividers (52) therebetween. The panel in a rest condition is expanded and of a desired thickness for final use but can be compressed into a relatively thin thickness or profile for shipping purposes. The panel is very lightweight but structurally strong and can be selectively bent in one transverse direction if desired. The panel can be easily cut into an predetermined size or shape.
