24 FOLDABLE BOX TEMPLATE US15405158 2017-01-12 US20170121051A1 2017-05-04 Niklas Pettersson
A foldable box template includes first, second, third, fourth, and fifth segments. Each of the segments has a length, a width, and one or more flaps. The first segment is positioned at a first end of the template and the fifth segment is positioned at a second, opposing end of the template. The sum of the lengths of the first segment and the fifth segment is generally equal to the length of the third segment. As a result, the first and fifth segments form a seam on a sidewall of a box formed from the box template. In some cases, the seam formed by the first and fifth segments is offset from seams formed in top and bottom surfaces of the box. The seam formed by the first and fifth segments is offset from a corner of the box.

29 Method of making a semi-rigid cereal carton US429279 1995-04-25 US5716473A 1998-02-10 Robert L. Gordon; Katherine A. Swenson; David E. Stier; Theresa A. Bronk
A paperboard container of generally semi-rigid construction and formed from a unitary blank of paperboard folded in the general shape of a U. The interior surface of the container is coated with a thermoplastic polymer barrier layer, the container having a manually openable, normally closed pour spout at one upper edge portion, and also having a recessed or raised bottom. The container is particularly adapted for packaging granular, dry material such as corn flakes, pretzels, and the like. Due to its construction and the thermoplastic barrier layer, the usual inner pouch which contains dry cereal is omitted, thereby effecting savings in both material and in assembly of the final package. In one embodiment, an opening is provided for carrying the package, the opening located at the top of the container. In another embodiment one side wall of the panel is provided with an extension to serve as a reclosure flap.

The vacuum cylinder has at least two rows of suction holes which are arranged at least substantially adjacent to each other and preferably overlap to a certain extent.
31 Manufacturing method of square bottom bags US353096 1989-05-17 US5006186A 1991-04-09 Naoomi Yokoyama
This invention relates to the method for manufacturing a variety of square bottom containers by folding to the same side both of two brims of a sheet-shaped container of raw material of paper, aluminum foil, plastic laminate film and the like such that the brims mutually abut each other, forming a bonding agent or heat-seal layer on the outsides of both these butted brims, then forming the lower portion into a W-shape with an inverted V-shaped fold being provide in the midway, and then press-fitting the bonding agent or heat-seal layer from the outside of the formed sheet for its bonding or deposition, the press fit formed sheet defining a square bottom container having a bottom laminate which is flat with no overlap and having a heat seal film or the like which doesn't come inside the container. The method is efficient and the containers can be manufactured quite easily.
32 Carton size modifier US184943 1988-04-22 US4825549A 1989-05-02 Harrison Huang
A carton size modifier comprising a tube, a supporting clamp installed on the tube and the structure for forming the hole line at the bottom end of the tube. The hole line forming structure comprised a rotating gear disk unit with a protection cover at its perimeter. The rotating gear disk unit is installed on the pipe seat having a handle. The top face of the pipe seat is cut at an angle to match with a pressing post having a complimentary angle at its lower end. One bolt threads the rotating gear disk unit, the pipe seat and pressing post, with its end fastened by a nut to avoid the fall-off of the pressing post. By puting the pressing post and the top end of the pipe seat into the tube. Then turning the bolt, the pressing post is pulled to make its outer wall supporting against the inner wall of the tube, thus its combination being completed.
33 Container and method of making a container with integral bottom panel and side panels US864498 1986-05-19 US4685610A 1987-08-11 Leewood C. Carter; Robin P. Neary
An integral box component for a container including paperboard center and side sheets spaced apart and secured to a primary base sheet of paperboard and covered with bottom and top layers of paper wrap material to seal the paperboard sheets against moisture. Other auxiliary steps are employed to form a completed box component.
34 Carton forming apparatus US740638 1985-06-03 US4619637A 1986-10-28 Kenneth W. Jones
In an in-line converting machine, flat carton blanks are thrust into a rotary former. The former includes a mandrel over which the carton is partially formed as the former rotates through 180.degree.. Thereafter, the carton is thrust off the former by a kicker bar and into a hopper where the carton nests with previously-formed cartons. The nesting cams the glued carton panels together, thereby completing the formation of the carton.
35 Method and apparatus for folding a cardboard sheet along a straight fold line US49039 1979-06-15 US4290764A 1981-09-22 Jan Middel
The problem of loss of strength in carboard along a line of fold due to stretching and breaking of fibres on the outside of the fold is overcome by providing a machine having a support surface against which the sheet of cardboard which is to be folded is held by an element which has a knife edge. The support surface is provided by a taut flexible sheet material which extends around a rotatable and movable roller. On operation of the machine, the roller is moved around the knife edge, its longitudinal axis being kept parallel to the knife edge, thereby making a fold in the sheet and the cardboard. The flexible sheet which contacts the cardboard has a high coefficient of friction with respect to cardboard. The restrains the cardboard fibres on the outerside of the cardboard as the fold is made preventing their stretching and breaking and thereby providing an unweakened fold.
