PURPOSE: To obtain a comparatively simple subject device sufficiently executing the processing of the swelling, dissociation, mixing, etc., of tobacco by providing a paddle conveyer mechanism with respectively independent transporting face to combine these transporting faces to a rotating body. CONSTITUTION: The container 1 of the style of a drum 2 is supported on supporting bodies 3 and 4 to rotatably support the paddle conveyer mechanism 6 in the center of the drum. The respectively independent and separate transporting faces like shovels are provided on the paddle conveyer mechanism and these transporting faces are fixed to the rotating body 9 of the style of the axis 12 driven by a power motor 11 by a combination supporting body 8. The transporting faces are provided for the rotating axis line of the axis 12 to form 20° to 60° angle with respect to the line to transport-operate in the direction of an arrow 15 to give nearly fixed transporting operation from to a tobacco small piece supplied from a flow-in port 14. PURPOSE: To equally mix the stream of uncompletely mixed tobacco materials by repeatedly letting the stream flow through on a vibrating conveyer forming many opening parts on its bottom part. CONSTITUTION: The tobacco materials, which are not sufficiently mixed, are supplied to a vibrating conveyer 16. This conveyer is provided with a trough 17, spring element 18 and eccentric driving mechanism 19. On a bottom plate 21 of the trough 17, the opening parts formed in the shape of circle, egg or slit are arranged over the full width and full length of all the base. The tobacco materials flow through the openings and move in the direction of an arrow 23. The tobacco materials are let flow out of openings 22 at a move terminal part 17a, dropped and equally mixed further while being placed on a vibrating conveyer 26 in the direction of an arrow 27. By providing a mechanism for repeatedly performing the similar configuration, comparatively a lot of tobacco streams are turned to a sufficiently and satiafctorily mixed state while moving. The oscillations are controlled by a photo-cell P1, mounted on the conveyer,which causes the conveyer 24 to move to the left until the cell is shaded by a plate 68 or by the pile of material. A timer controls the extent of movement to the right. When half the length of the silo has been filled a limit switch L1 reverses the direction of feed of the conveyer 24 and a photo-cell P2 takes over control of the oscillatory motion until filling is complete and motion is arrested by a limit switch L2. If the discharge conveyer 4 is operating during tne filling operation, the direction of movement of the point about which oscillations occur is determined by the relative rates of filling and emptying. Limit switches L4, L5 acts as safety overrun switches. Proximity switches or switches operated by pendulums may replace the photocells. In an alternative arrangement, the feed conveyer is equal in length to the silo and runs in one direction only and is controlled by a single photo-cell P1.
