PURPOSE: To carry the knife in a possibly in conspicuous state without preventing a general purpose function by making the base part of a sheath facing the body of a carrying person curved corresponding to the curve of the body in a waist band area and making at least a blade body area of the knife elastic. CONSTITUTION: The knife for journey 1 consists of a grip 2 and a blade body 3 having elasticity and connected to the grip. The blade body 3 is curved similarly to the curved sheath by inserting it into the sheath 4. The curve of the sheath 4 corresponds with the body shape of the carrying person and a sheath base part 5 is curved similarly to an insertion pocket 6 housing the knife body 3 of a knife 1. The part 5 is provided with two belt loops 7 disposed in parallel to each other at a regular intervals. The belt loops 7 are formed elastically through the use of a rubber coated fabric. Though the blade body is elastically formed so as to follow the curve of the part 5, the grip is produced to be remarkably rigid, projected outward and easily grasped. COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
5 | Hand tool | JP28356690 | 1990-10-23 | JPH03210294A | 1991-09-13 | REI SEODOORU TAUNZENTO |
PURPOSE: To move a tool to all attitudes with respect to a supporting member on the forearm of a wearing person and to fix to any desired position at need by providing a hand tool with a fixing means for selectively fixing a hand grip member at a prescribed position with respect to a supporting bar. CONSTITUTION: When moving a lever 44 forward or counterclockwise by the thumb of an operator, the lever 44 is rotated with a screw 46 in a center to engage the rear tip part 42 of a link arm 38 with the tip part 30 of a clutch spring 26 to open a spring. Thereby, the combining state of shafts 22 and 22A is released to allow an operator to move a hand grip member 25 angularly with the rotary shaft of the shafts 22 and 22A in a center with respect to a supporting bar 12. When the lever 44 is released, the part 42 of the arm 38 is disengaged from the tip part of the spring 26, which connects the shafts 22 and 22A with each other again to return the bar 12 and the member 25 into a rigid connected state again.

An elongate blade (11) formed on its opposite ends with points (13, 15) and including first, second and third pairs of bores (19,18, 21) disposed respectively at one end of such blade, centrally on such blade and at the opposite end of such blade. A handle (17) is received telescopically on the blade and includes a latch for selectively engaging the respective bores to selectively latch the handle centrally with both points exposed for convenient throwing or for latching at one or other of the opposite ends of the blade. |

A multi-purpose tool or apparatus includes multiple mechanical tools. In one implementation, the multi-purpose tool includes an elongated handle, a folding axe, and a folding shovel or spade, as well as a hammer or hammer-head. The folding axe is foldable between an open position and a closed position. The folding shovel is foldable among three positions, which are a closed shovel position, a 90-degree open shovel position, and a 180-degree extended shovel position. The elongated handle is hollow and includes an elongated cavity. A folding saw, as well as a knife and a sheath to protect the knife, are stored within the elongated cavity and can be removed therefrom.
