The invention relates to a method for joining two essentially metal sheet-type workpieces. In said method. the edge regions of the workpieces to be joined are placed at a distance from one another, at least one wire-shaped filler material is introduced into a zone between the edge regions before or during the joining process, and edge regions and the filler material are then heated to a predefined joining temperature by at least one first frictional element that moves in relation to the edge regions and the filler material, are subjected to a certain contact pressure, and are joined while being deformed. |

PURPOSE:To unitize an oscillating device and to facilitate its assembling and disassembling by mounting a burner to an arc-shaped bracket and holding these with an oscillating device which is movable in circumferential and axial directions. CONSTITUTION:An annular gas burner 6 is mounted to an arc-shaped burner bracket 12 which has cruciform sectional shape and is inscribed with a gear 12a on the top surface. The bracket 12 is grasped oscillatable in an oscillating unit 9 by means of at least three pieces of rollers 14. The unit 9 is provided with a reversal revolution motor 18, and the bevel gear 15 at the leading end of the output shaft meshes with the bevel gear 15b secured to a shaft 13 having a gear 15c which is meshed with the gear 12a of the bracket 12. The unit 9 is held by means of bushings 22 to guide bars 21 which are spanned between a pair of supporting frames 11 mounted to a frame 8. A pinion 16 is provided to the shaft of the gear 19b meshed with the gear 19a of the motor 18, and a rack 17 meshed with the pinion 16 is fixed to the oscillation unit. |

The invention relates to a method for joining essentially flat or metal sheet-type workpieces (1, 2). In said method, the regions of the workpieces (1, 2) to be joined are placed on top of one another, the surface of one (1) of the workpieces is brought in contact with a rotating frictional element (3), and the frictional element (3) is pressed against the surface using a certain contact pressure (4). |
