14 Bar holder arrangement for an automatic machine tool US3782593D 1971-07-20 US3782593A 1974-01-01 DOE E
A bar holder arrangement for holding bar stock material to be fed to an automatic machine tool. A slide presses a length of bar stock material from a magazine into a bar holder. A retaining member cooperates with the slide in a manner such that the retaining member does not move from a position in which it prevents movement of the length of bar stock material into the bar holder until the slide member has moved to a position in which movement of the next length of bar stock material in the magazine is prevented by the slide member thereby preventing double loading. The bar holder arrangement may include more than one bar holder in an indexable reel, means permitting the arrangement to be quickly reset to accommodate a change in diameter of the bar stock material being used, means for preventing indexing of the reel if a bar holder has not been closed and means for sensing whether or not bar stock material in a bar holder has been completely used up.

16 Bar stock storage dispensing and feeding apparatus and method US3757927D 1971-09-13 US3757927A 1973-09-11 GABLE C; GOTSCH M
Method and apparatus for storing dispensing and feeding bars of stock to a material processing device includes a rotatable magazine to and from which bars of stock are transferred laterally and a bar support rack which receives the bars one at a time from the magazine, and transfers them axially into or out of a device such as a lathe for machining. Means are provided for the bidirectional transfer of bars of stock between the magazine and the support rack so that an unused portion of a bar of stock may be removed from the lathe and transferred back into the magazine for storage or disposal. A bar of stock is moved axially along the bar support rack by a pair of skewed concave rollers so that a bar is simultaneously moved axially and rotated about its axis to thus aid in inserting the bar into the lathe spindle collet.

18 Balancing device for a bar loading magazine US14566365 2014-12-10 US09908179B2 2018-03-06 Kai Loeffler; Helmut Wichtlhuber
A balancing device for a bar loading magazine for guiding material bars on a turning machine, includes at least one mass body that can be repeatedly positioned in relation to a guiding unit that allows a rotation of an introduced material bar about a rotary axis. The mass body is, after each completed positioning, in a connection with the guiding unit and/or the material bar, so that the mass body rotates, during the rotation of an introduced material bar, together with the material bar at the same angular speed about the rotary axis. At least one positioning unit is designed to bring the mass body into a starting position in relation to the guiding unit, to detect during rotation any required repositioning because of an imbalance, and to reposition in each case the mass body in response to the detection of any required repositioning in relation to the guiding unit.
