61 Sound deadened chain US603295 1975-08-11 US3973389A 1976-08-10 Alfred M. Roberts
The chain is formed of a series of links of general C-shape with the link diameter greater than the width of the gap at the ends of each to prevent disengagement therethrough, and a sound absorbing continuous length of sash cord of a diameter substantially equal to the gap width is combined with the chain length by insertion through the link gaps of such cord successively in alternating fashion along the length of the chain.
62 Link conveyor US36722173 1973-06-05 US3868011A 1975-02-25 JANZEN WOLFGANG; BALD ALFRED
A link conveyor comprises a series of metal plate links each of which is formed from a sheet metal blank and which are hinged to one another by hinge pins which extend through interengaging hinge eyelets formed from integral parts of the blank on adjacent edges of said links and each link having a pair of guide flanges projecting at right angles from it for guiding it along guide rails, the guide flanges also being formed as integral parts of the sheet metal blank. Preferably the guide flanges are integrally connected to the hinge eyelets projecting from one edge of each link by webs which are pressed flat against the underside of the link.
63 Semi-automatic linking machine US44380574 1974-02-19 US3863440A 1975-02-04 KORTICK MORRIS
The device is designed to handle a link for a chandelier or other ornamental article. A vibrating hopper feeds the links on a slanted rail so that they slide down to a feed position. A latch adjacent the bottom end of the rail retains the links in a line on the rail. The machine moves a double guide member, one arm opening the latch and the other arm guiding the bottom link onto a horizontal slide rail in the machine. The guide member is withdrawn, allowing the latch to close and hold the remaining links on the rail. A ram moves the single link forwardly to an operating position. The operator now holds a pair of crystals, one in each hand on each side of the machine, so that the openings in the crystals are positioned between the end lugs on the link. The operator now activates the ram to move forwardly a short distance, sufficient to bend the link to move the U-shaped arms toward each other and to move the lugs into the openings in the crystals to complete the linkage. The ram is then withdrawn and the operation is repeated with the next link.

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a link of a chain for a trolley conveyor is provided which reduces product cost by simply and safely manufacturing the link forming the chain for the trolley conveyor and reducing processes for manufacturing the link at the same time. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a link of a chain for a trolley conveyor comprises the steps of blanking an iron plate(100") having a certain thickness so as to form a processing plate(100) in which a pair of processing parts(110) with curved parts(111) which have relatively wide widths and are projected to the inner side are symmetrically connected by a connection part(120) having a relatively narrow width so that female grooves(130) are formed inside the processing plate(100); pressing the processing parts(110) of the processing plate(100) so as to form and bend the curved parts(111) to the outside; forming a support part(110') with curved parts(111') which are projected to upper and lower surfaces of the processing plate(100) by pressing the processing parts(110) of the processing plate(100) on which the curved parts(111) are formed to the outside; forming a curved surface(121) by processing an inner surface of the connection part(120) of the processing plate(100) which is symmetrically formed in a straight line shape around the support part(110'); and forming a link(100') by trimming the processing plate(100) in which the curved surface(121) is formed on the inner surface of the connection part(120).

A joint and a corresponding method of creating a precision-fit joint, including creating a mating surface on a first joint component so that the mating surface includes one or more interfering features, connecting a second joint component with the mating surface such that the interfering feature is compressed, and heating the mating surface above a glass transition temperature or melting temperature of the mating surface, or otherwise treating the surface, so as to induce flow of material from the interfering feature to a area of relatively low pressure between the first joint component and the second joint component.
