A games table features a unique corner assembly in which upper and lower corner members respectively embrace about upper and lower edges of an elongated perimeter frame member of the table and are clamped together to secure the frame member in place. Matable male and female features on the corner assemblies also enable stacking of two table top units to enable convenient switching of a games table between two modes of game play. |

The present invention concerns a gameboard, especially for playing table ball games, e.g. table tennis, having a playing surface which touches the ball during play and a support base supporting the playing surface and placed on the floor. Gameboard characterized by that the support base (1) is formed as a frame-like support base (1), and having an open play field (13) formed by three playing surfaces (8, 9, 10), which playing surfaces (8, 9, 10) are supported by the support base (1).
106 | TABLE TENNIS BALL SERVER ROBOT AND NET. | EP93922149 | 1993-08-31 | EP0663842A4 | 1996-01-17 | NEWGARDEN JOSEPH E JR |
A table tennis ball serving assembly (1) is mounted to a table by a quick release, foldable net attachement assembly (5). Server (1) includes a container (13) and a robot server (3) mounted therein. Trough assembly (19, 21) is mounted to and extends out laterally from the container (13). Net assembly (5) surrounds the robot server (3). Net assembly (5) contains a rear ball-impervious net (41) and a forward net (53) designed to allow balls striking the forward net (53) at a predetermined velocity to pass through, strike the rear net (41) and drop into trough assembly (19, 21). Balls striking the forward net (53) with insufficient velocity drop into the trough assembly (19, 21). Side wing nets (8') may be provided to extend along each side to the mid-point of the table. A pair of removable ball dams (25) in the trough assembly create a ball storage area. Holes (24) of predetermined size in the dams serve as a gauge for ball sizing. The robot server (3) includes a robot (207) that can be removably mounted to the front or rear of a ball holding tray or container (203).
107 | Apparatus for a rebounding ball game | EP88311976.0 | 1988-12-16 | EP0323091A3 | 1990-01-31 | Mclean, David |
A rebounding ball game comprising a circular planar horizontal court 12 and a deflecting element 32 having a spherical concave rebound surface 34 mounted generally orthogonal to the court 12, such that a substantial portion of the rebound surface 34 extends above the court 12 and a substantial portion of the court 12 extends forwardly of the rebound surface 34. Players position themselves on generally opposite sides of the court 12 forwardly of the rebound surface 34 and propel a ball against the rebound surface 34 to deflect onto the court 12 in order to score points. The court 12 may be provided with an aperture defining an out-of-play region, and may be elevated by means of a tripod 14 or other suitable support. In another embodiment, the deflecting element 32 may be pivoted on a support 50 to be displaced from a position in which it is mounted orthogonal to the court 12 to a position in which it is supported horizontally above the court 12 and shields the court 12 from adverse weather conditions. |

108 | Ball game apparatus | EP80303179.8 | 1980-09-10 | EP0029648A1 | 1981-06-03 | Scheie, Carl Edward |
A game in which each opposing player utilizes a racquet, a paddle (16), or a hand to propel a ball (19) on to a game board (15) having three playing surfaces (40,42,44). These playing surfaces (40,42,44) are related to one another at angles which are within a specified range. The playing surface (40) is vertically disposed on a first planar member (30). A second planar member (32) is angularly disposed relative to the first planar member (30) and has its playing surface (42) upwardly and outwardly disposed with respect to the vertical playing surface (40). A third planar member (34) is angularly disposed relative to the first planar member (30) and has its playing surface (44) downwardly and outwardly disposed with respect to the vertical playing surface (40). The second (32) and third (34) planar members can be pivoted relative to the first planar member (30) to enable the angles between the respective playing surfaces (40,42,44) to be varied within the specified range. The rules of the game require that the ball (19) comes into contact with the surfaces (40,42,44) in a specified order both while serving and during play. The game board (15) may be incorporated into furniture, may be wall mounted, or may be on a free-standing base. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball game apparatus by which anyone is allowed to readily enjoy playing a game. SOLUTION: The game ball apparatus 1 is configured so that a player hits a baseball b forward, and includes a supporting member 10 blowing air upward and supporting the baseball b floated by the blowing air, an air supply device for supplying air to the supporting member 10, a ball supply device 20 for supplying the baseball b to a position above the supporting member 10 so that the baseball is supported in a floated state by the air blown from the supporting member 10, a ball detection sensor 33 for detecting whether the baseball b is positioned at the position above the supporting member or not, and a control device 34 for determining whether the baseball b is positioned at the position above the supporting member 10 or not on the basis of a detection signal obtained from the ball detection sensor 33, and supplying a baseball b to the position above the supporting member 10 by driving the ball supply device 20 when the baseball is detected to be absent from the position.
