PURPOSE: To enable a circuit breaker having a thermomagnetic tripping device to use a large number of breakers of different ampere rating in outer shells having common size.
CONSTITUTION: A thermomagnetic tripping device 67 of a circuit breaker 10 is arranged to respond to a mechanical rating plug 15 which sets the stroke distance X between a tripping bar 24 of an operating mechanism and a bimetal attached to the thermomagnetic tripping device. This stroke distance is calibrated and is made to correspond to steady-state ampere rating of a specific circuit breaker.

PURPOSE: To break a circuit with effect by forming a gap between an armature and a fixed magnetic structure, employing a spring device so that a displacement of the armature is adjusted in the range of a high set position to a low, also the gap is adjusted by an adjusting bar.
CONSTITUTION: An electric contact 19 which is workable between a closed position and open position in an electric circuit is prepared. Releasing latch movement by a latch free operation mechanism opens the electric contact 19. To release the latch, a trip bar 89 rotatable from a disolacement position to a trip position is arranged in this structure. When an abnormal current passes through a conductor, an armature 111 attracted to a structure 109 moves the trip bar 89 to the trip position. Then a spring device adjusts a displacement of the armature 111 in the range of a high set position to a low. In addition, gaps at the high and low set positions are adjusted separately.

PURPOSE: To enable an assured trip action with a simple compact configuration by providing also bimetal means in addition to a winding moving an armature, and moving it to a position separating from a permanent magnet.
CONSTITUTION: An armature 23 is attracted to be held in a first position by a permanent magnet 22 and a spring 27. By magnetic force of excitation by carrying of a current in a winding 30 against this holding force, the armature 23 is moved to a second position. Further, by bimetal means 33 provided as means of joint use, a peripheral temperature, when it rises by an overload current or the like, is indirectly detected, by displacement of the means 33, the armature 23 is moved to the second position, by a simple compact configuration, sureness of trip action is enhanced.

An apparatus having a conductor passing through a magnetic yoke and is mounted on the bracket, in which the magnetic yoke is fixed on the bracket as well. Above the conductor, a shaft is mounted on the top of the bracket. A push rod is mounted on the shaft and rotates with the shaft about the bracket. An armature, spaced apart from the magnetic yoke, is fixed on the push rod. Adjusting mechanisms are mounted on both sides of the shaft between the push rod and the bracket. Within the adjusting mechanism, a torsion spring is around the shaft. An adjusting rod is provided with a plurality of adjusting surfaces which makes contact with the adjusting mechanism. A spring force of the torsion spring enables the push rod to rotate towards a direction which makes the armature and the magnetic yoke separate. |
