41 | High voltage in-line disconnect switch | US32798773 | 1973-01-30 | US3813504A | 1974-05-28 | ANDERSON R |
A switch is provided for insertion directly into a high voltage power line to provide means for electrically disconnecting an extension of the line. The switch employs an insulator having high tensile strength and a high dielectric constant which can physically support a power line and also withstand the electrical forces applied through the line. The electrical circuits are either completed or broken through action of a switch blade which can conduct electric current between hardware components connected to end fittings on the insulator. The end fittings are tapered and faced by steps to prevent their being pulled from the hardware or rotated with respect to the hardware.

42 | Polyphase disconnecting switch for high-voltage circuit having a conductor at each apex of a triangle | US3647996D | 1971-01-07 | US3647996A | 1972-03-07 | BERNATT JOSEPH; GUTMANN JOHN T |
Disconnecting switch assemblies are located in a triangular configuration on an inverted cross-shaped frame adapted to be secured to the top of a power line pole. Each switch assembly includes a pivotally mounted insulator carrying a switch blade for engaging a stationary contact carried by a stationary insulator. The pivoted insulators at the ends of the transverse piece are interconnected by a shaft which is connected by a link to the pivoted insulator at the top of the upright piece to effect conjoint switch operation. The transverse and vertical pieces are tubular and the shaft and link are enclosed thereby. Dead end connections adjacent the switch assemblies permit dead ending the respective conductor thereto. Each switch blade and the respective switch contact are so positioned that the switch blade cannot gravitate to the open position when closed and vice versa. Each switch contact is carried by an insulator that is mounted at the distal end of a support bracket in angular relation to the respective pivoted insulator.

A bypass switch recloser assembly has a first switch assembly connected electrically in series to a second switch assembly. A bypass switch assembly is connected electrically in parallel to the first and second switch assemblies. A recloser assembly is connected electrically in series to the first and second switch assemblies and electrically in parallel to the bypass switch assembly. The first, second and bypass switch assemblies and the recloser are mounted on a support assembly. The support assembly mounts the bypass switch recloser assembly to a support.
55 | Protection apparatus for air circuit breaker | EP07150426.0 | 2007-12-27 | EP1939998A2 | 2008-07-02 | Eom, Jae Pil LS Industrial Systems Co., Ltd. |
A protection apparatus for air circuit breaker for preventing an erroneous operation caused by heat in the course of the air circuit breaker being operated is disclosed, wherein temperatures are detected using the detection signals of temperature sensors attached to various heat generating sources disposed at the air circuit breaker including power lines and contacts, and various constituent elements having a high likelihood of generating an erroneous operation when the temperature is high, and the detected temperatures are compared with prescribed reference temperatures, and as a result of the comparison, if the detected temperatures are higher than the prescribed reference temperatures, the air circuit breaker is determined to have a possibility of generating an erroneous operation, and if air circuit breaker is determined to have a possibility of generating an erroneous operation, the trip coil is driven to trip the air circuit breaker. |

The invention concerns a transformer system comprising an enclosure (1) housing a voltage transformer (4) and an electrical connection guided outside the enclosure (1) and electrically connected to the voltage transformer (4). Said electrical connection is for connecting the transformer system to a high or medium voltage installation. In order to be able to control easily the voltage on a high voltage installation, the invention proposes an improved transformer system whereby in the enclosure (1) is provided a decoupling device (12) for temporarily interrupting the electrical connection between the voltage transformer (4) and the first connector (6, said decoupling device capable of being actuated from outside the enclosure (1). Said transformer system enables to control the direct voltage without having to dismantle the high voltage installation.

A new and improved apparatus is provided to permit a live or hot electrical power line to be cut in the field for line service or other purposes. The apparatus is connected at each end to the line at positions spanning the site of the cut. The attached end portions are then moved closer to each other, easing the tension on the portion of the line to be cut. The apparatus is then connected to the live line with jumper cables, forming a parallel electric circuit. The line is then cut and a cut end tied back. Flow of current through the apparatus is broken. An interrupter in the apparatus suppresses any arc which may tend to form. |
