42 Switching assembly for gas burner valve EP96104456.7 1996-03-21 EP0735557A3 1998-04-22 Krueger, Donald Martin

A rotary switch assembly for use with a fuel burner valve having a user rotatable shaft. The switch has an annular sleeve which upon being received over the valve shaft is engaged to be rotated by the valve shaft. The rotor has a conductive contact ring frictionally engaging the rotor with inward projections on the ring frictionally engaging torque transmitting grooves formed on the rotor. The rotor is journalled on the switch base which has stationary contacts provided on opposite sides of the rotor. User rotation of the valve shaft causes the rotor to rotate and the wiper contacts complete a circuit between the stationary contacts.

First and second self-supporting sheet metal contact plates (104,106) are mounted in an insulating housing (12), in planes perpendicular to the axis of a driver (24) which is rotatable to a series of detented positions. The driver (24) carries first and second contactors (78a,78b) having first and second contact points (96,98) slidably engaging opposite sides of the plates while also having riders (90,92) engaging opposite sides of the first contact plate at all times. The driver (24) carries first and second coil springs (188,190) biasing the contactors (78a,78b) against the plates (104,106). The first and second plates have first and second sectors (120,122) with first and second radial edges (142,144) on opposite sides of a narrow gap (254,256) across which the points are movable at different radially spaced locations. The points break contact substantially simultaneously with the second edge whereby wear due to electrical arcing is distributed between the radially spaced locations. A third contactor (78c) is biased by the second coil spring (190) into sliding engagement with third and fourth contact plates for making and breaking another electrical circuit therebetween. A pinion gear on the driver meshes with and drives a gear rack on a linearly movable vacuum valve for performing vacuum switching functions. The contact plates are clamped between case and cover components of the housing. To facilitate assembly, the first and second plates are initially connected by a narrow temporary web (107,263) and have rectangularly bent flanges with interlocking hooks (330,332) remote from the web for strictly limiting relative movement of the plates. The third and fourth plates have a similar web and hooks.

This relates to a rotary switch assembly for a multiple work station machine wherein the work stations rotate and are sequentially presented to an operating position. There may be a high voltage and two low voltage switches with the switches being so constructed wherein electrical connections are made with each work station in timed relation to its presentation to the work position and for the required period of time.

45 Valve supervisory switch EP87308092.3 1987-09-14 EP0261851A2 1988-03-30 Merchant, David E.

A switch is mounted on a plate within a housing having a housing body with a port and a removable housing cover. A switch actuator rod is mounted on a pivot within a sleeve that may be coupled to the housing so that the rod extends through the port and engages the switch within the housing. A linear actuator rod is slideably mounted within a sleeve which also may be coupled to the housing so that the rod extends through the port and engages the switch. A spring is mounted on the housing cover in a direction traverse to the arc through which the swing actuator rod pivots so that it engages the end of rod and biases it away from the switch. By removing the cover, moving the rod to the opposite end of its arc, and replacing the cover, the direction of engagement of the rod with the spring may be changed. The switch plate is movable along the rod's arc of pivot so that the tch trip point along the arc may be adjusted.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch mechanism in which a plurality of functions can be put together even if it is a type of operating an air conditioner manually, and operability to a driver is also superior. SOLUTION: The manually operated switch mechanisms 1, 3 comprise at least a dial part 4, a first gear 5 which is extrapolated into this dial part 4 and unitedly rotated and in which gear teeth 5a are formed on the outer peripheral side face, and a second gear 6 in which gear teeth 6a are formed on the circular peripheral face and wire-connected to an air conditioning door by a wire 20 on the other side at the opposite side together and drives this air conditioning door. A dial type mechanism is prepared in which a rotation of the dial parts 4 is transferred from the first gear 5 to the second gear 6 via a relay parts 7, and a push-type switch mechanism is also assembled that is at least provided with a slide part 8, of which the dial parts 4 is made to be a cylindrical body with both sides opened, and which is sliding housed in the axis direction of the dial parts 4 in the dial parts 4, and which has a push part 11 on the bottom part side, and with a substrate 9 having a switch part 10 contacted with the push part 11. PURPOSE: To facilitate assembling, and smoothly change and supply voltage and fluid by providing an electric switch such as a slip ring connected to a brush which integrally rotates with a rotary switch shaft, and a fluid switch of a manifold plate or the like which similarly rotates. CONSTITUTION: A high voltage rotary switch 36 to form a rotary switch with a contact 200 on a slip ring holder 196 through a brush to get in contact with a slip ring 198 on an outer circumference of the holder 196 to integrally rotate with a shaft 22 is connected to a high voltage source, and a low voltage rotary switch 34 of an integrated assmbly with the switch 36 is also connected to an applicable power source through a spacer or the like. In the meanwhile, a ring 82 of an integrated assembly with a rotary valve 38, an input manifold 80, and a manifold plate 42 provided witn an output port to get in contact with a spacer 70 on a slipping surface integrally rotate with the shaft 22 are connected to various fluid sources. Target voltage and fluid can thus be smoothly changed and supplied in such constitution as to be easily assembled with each work station which integrally rotate with the shaft 22 through the switches 32-36 and the valve 38. PURPOSE: To eliminate a time delay of pressure and electric conduction by placing an electrode on one end of members connected to each other so as to be rotatable, providing a pressurizing means operated by a pneumatic pressure on the other end, and providing a control means which can execute the electric conduction, on the pressurizing means. CONSTITUTION: When object to be welded 36, 38 are placed between electrode fingers 22, 26 and a cover 68 is pushed by the inside of the thumb, air of a passage 40 is transmitted to a passage 48 by movement of a valve shaft 62 and a pneumatic pressure in a chamber 50 rises, and a piston 72 is pushed to the outside from a cylinder 70. At the same, members 16, 18 connected to the piston 72 and the cylinder 70 are turned around a pivot 20, the fingers 22, 26 clamp strongly the objects to be welded 36, 38, and also, when the pressure in the chamber 50 rises enough, a welding circuit is formed by the piston 72. In this way, when clamping the object to be welded, a time delay of a pressure and an electric conduction of the finger is eliminated, and welding can be executed exactly.
