A switching apparatus has a normally-open switching device comprising first and second normally-open switches and a normally-closed switching device comprising first and second normally-closed switches. The switching apparatus also has an actuator operable in conjunction with the switching devices such that: (a) in a neutral actuator mode the first and second normally-open switches remain open, and the first and second normally-closed switches remain closed, (b) in a first operation mode the actuator operates on the first normally-closed switch and the first normally-open switch, and (c) in a second operation mode the actuator operates on the second normally-closed switch and the second normally-open switch.

A change-over switch for the switching of two electric circuits is disclosed, including a housing, a tappet, two contacts of a first electric circuit, two contacts of a second electric circuit, and a switching contact which comprises in an initial state a first shape in which said first electric circuit is closed and said second electric circuit is opened, and which by actuating said tappet may be transferred into a second shape in which said first electric circuit is opened and said second electric circuit is closed.
23 | Push button switch | US10377383 | 2003-02-28 | US06861604B2 | 2005-03-01 | John P. McSwiggen |
A push button switch is provided having a switch housing having at least two contacts wherein at least one of the contacts has an engagement surface. The switch includes a switch actuator having an actuation surface. The actuator is in communication with the housing and is adapted to be movable with respect to the housing when depressed. The actuation surface is adapted to engage the engagement surface of the at least one contact when the switch actuator is depressed. The two contacts are adapted to contact each other at an actuation point defined by the actuation surface of the switch actuator.
24 | Keyboard with metal cover and improved switches | US879284 | 1986-06-27 | US4771139A | 1988-09-13 | Gregory L. DeSmet |
An improved keyboard is provided with a flexible metal cover, normally closed switches, and multiple throw switches. The metal cover is made flexible in the area of each key or switch by the provision of grooves in the metal surrounding each flexible portion. The normally closed and multiple throw switches include pellets which transmit the actuating force on a key or switch through a substrate on which a switch is mounted. The device may be configured in such a way that the pellet will push the normally closed contacts of a switch out of contact, or the pellet or pellets may mechanically link a stacked set of switches in order to provided ganged, multiple throw operation.

PURPOSE: To achieve a push-button switch capable of turning on and off two circuits by disposing a first contact on a substrate at the position corresponding to an electrically conductive diaphragm and a second contact on a lower surface of an insulating sheet at the position corresponding to said diaphragm and connecting a third contact to said diaphragm. CONSTITUTION: A first contact 11 is disposed on the upper surface of a lower insulating sheet 2 at the position corresponding to the center of an electrically conductive diaphragm 10 provided in an intermediate insulating sheet 3. A second contact 12 is disposed on a lower surface of an upper insulating sheet 6 at the position corresponding to the convex portion 10a of the diaphragm 10, and a third contact 13 connected to the diaphragm 10 is disposed on the upper surface of the intermediate insulating sheet 3 at the region corresponding to the peripheral region 10b of the diaphragm 10. Switching circuits are formed between the first contact 11 and the diaphragm 10, and between the second contact 12 and the diaphragm 10, respectively. Two switching circuits can thus be turned on successively by one push-button by setting the actuating pressure force for one switching circuit to be weaker than the reversing force of the diaphragm 10 to open or close the other switching circuit. Provided is a switch device comprising a see-saw type operation knob capable of maintaining, at a neutral position of the operation knob, a plurality of opposing switch contacts in mutually opposite ON/OFF states. The switch device (1) is provided with the operation knob (20) supported to be rockable relative to a substrate (6), at least two surfaces, consisting of a first cam surface and a second cam surface (23a-1, 23b-1), formed along the rocking direction on the substrate-facing side of the operation knob, and first and second switch contacts (51a, 51b) disposed in parallel on the substrate for the first and second cam surfaces. At the neutral position of the operation knob, the cam action of the first cam surface and the second cam surface allows the first switch contact and the second switch contact to be maintained in mutually opposite ON/OFF states. |
