PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate connection work of a sheet-like connection board when installing a thin keyboard switch in a portable personal computer or the like. SOLUTION: One end of a bottom plate 21 of an upper case 19 for retaining a thin keyboard switch 16 is formed with an opening part 22 for loosely passing a sheet-like connection board 17 led out of a back end part of the thin keyboard switch 16, while at least one hole 18 is formed at a intermediate part in the width direction of the sheet-like connection board 17. A frame body part 20 of the upper case 19 is integrally formed with a retaining protrusion 23 inside the opening part 22 of the upper case 19, while the retaining protrusion 23 is inserted through the hole 18 with the sheet-like connection board 17 bent forward below the bottom plate 21 so as to support a rear surface of a board 5 of the thin keyboard switch 16. Thereby, connection work of the sheet connection board 17 can be easily performed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain compatibility between high visibility due to illumination, and the reliability of a switch operation and the operability of switch, regarding an operation device used for a vehicular air conditioner. SOLUTION: A switch knob 40 is formed out of a support bar 40A rotatably fitted to a switch body 50, and a light transmissive operation panel 40C jointed to an support bar 40A through a connection piece 40B and formed to have a light transmissive function in part (i.e., indication part). Furthermore, suitable engaging irregularities 20A are other engaging irregularities 40Ca are formed on the peripheral end of a box 20 corresponding to the operation panel 40C. Also, a flexible printed circuit board 30 is cut out at corresponding positions fitted to the irregularities 20A and 40Ca, and provided with electrical wiring for chip LEDs 30A. Hollow space formed out of the box 20 and the operation panel 40C houses the flexible printed circuit board 30, and the chip LEDs 30A are also arranged in the hollow space. In addition, the projection 20B of the box 20 coaxially positioned with the chip LEDs 30A is kept in contact with a mounted switch 12C. COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO

PURPOSE: To prolong the life of a flexible sheet by putting it in contact with a bent portion in the closed condition, equipping this portion with a guide member having an are-shaped part which gives a mild curve, and thereby securing a desired curve. CONSTITUTION: A pair of keyboards 3, 4 are supported in a single piece with possibility of opening and closing, and a flexible sheet 6 whereon conductor patterns are formed, provides electrical connections, and the bent portion of this flexible sheet 6 in closed condition is contacted, and a guide member 7 is equipped having an are-shaped part 7a which gives a mild curve. By this device the bent portion of flexible sheet 6 can be given a desired curve easily, and desired mild curve in closed condition will not be collapsed even though opening and closing are repeated. Thus the life of flexible sheet 6 can be prolonged. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
211 Film type circuit with improved tail JP25774884 1984-12-07 JPS60144992A 1985-07-31 KAZUTOYO FUKUKURA
Membrane type circuit comprises an insulating support having terminal sites thereon and circuit conductors extending between and among the terminal sites. A tail extends from the support and the conductors extend onto the tail and have output terminals on the tail. The tail is folded so that the output terminals on each side of the fold line are against each other and are connected to each other. Each pair of conductors which extends from two opposed output terminals are therefore a dual conductor. This arrangement simplifies circuit design and avoids the need for crossovers in many circumstances.

A tabulator keyboard of simplified design may be fabricated from a single flexible circuit and a minimum of other mechanical structures. The flexible circuit combines in one piece an array of deformable upper contacts, an array of stationary lower contacts, as well as the required interconnections between the elements of these arrays and the electronics module. The flexible circuit may be made of a reasonable transparent dielectric film (e.g. polyamide). The flexible circuit is folded in use such that the lower stationary array has its conductive surface opposite the upper deformable array. Means are provided for making electrical contact between a selected element in said lower array with a selected element in said upper array.
