PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate poor contacting condition in a mirror switch having a conter-contact without changing the shape of a die by introducing such a configuration that burr of a stationary contact touches a movable contact. SOLUTION: A stationary contact 15a is composed of a pair of stationary electrodes 17a and 18a and manufactured through insert molding. In insert molding, burrs 20a formed on the stationary electrodes 17a and 18a are oriented as directed to a rubber electrode 22a, so that no film of resin 24 is formed on the surfaces of the stationary electrodes 17a and 18a. Accordingly when a mirror angle adjusting button is pushed, the rubber electrode 22a touches the tip of the burr 20a certainly. Further there is no need to prepare a die for insert molding equipped with a projection for preventing formation of a film of resin 24, but a conventional die for insert molding may be used which eliminates necessity for alteration of the design. The invention provides a key-board switch unit used, for example, in pocketable electronic calculators comprising a base plate having at least one pair of switch electrodes and a covering pad made of an insulating rubber and provided with at least one contact member made of an electroconductive rubber and bonded on the lower surface thereof to face the electrodes coming into contact therewith when the pad is depressed. The contact member is embedded in the covering pad in such a manner that the surface of it is coplanar with the surface of the covering pad at least along the peripheries in conjunction with the covering pad and the contact member is sufficiently small so as to be confined within the area of the covering pad facing the void space formed between the base plate and the covering pad at the portion of the electrodes. The hardness relationship between the rubbery materials of the covering pad and the contact member is also of essential importance for reliable switching and durability of the switch unit.

A tactile switch plate for a keyboard comprises a non-conductive member sandwiched between a pair of conductors, the member having a planar body portion provided with a plurality of outwardly deformed carrier portions corresponding in number and spacing to the number and spacing of the keys of the keyboard. Each of the carrier portions is resiliently flexible for movement toward the plane of the body and each carrier portion carries a preferably elastomeric switching member that is adapted to bridge the conductors and establish an electrical circuit between the conductors. The plate and switching members preferably are produced by a molding process and the elastomeric switching members are cured by heat generated by an electrical current.
