PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch ensuring a sure and reproducible switching function only by having a deflectable inertial mass responding to acceleration and several simple components, without requiring any adjustment. SOLUTION: This switch has the deflectable inertial mass 16 capable of operating a switching device, responding to acceleration, and the inertial mass 16 is suspended with two parallel supporting arms 12, 14 elastically deflectable, having a firmly fixed first end and a movable second end, for fitting the inertial mass 16. The inertial mass 16 has a space in each of the both sides of the mass, and is fixed to between the supporting arms 12, 14. The inertial mass 16 starts from the rest position and is deflectable in two opposite directions. The supporting arms 12, 14 form a continuous bracket enveloping the inertial mass 16. The first ends of the supporting arms 12, 14 are fixed to the inside of a base plate. The inertial mass 16 has an operating arm for the switching device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent nonconformities caused by deformation of a rubber cap shifting in a different direction from the rising and setting direction of a moving piece. SOLUTION: A moving piece 20 for actuating contact mechanism is provided movably in its rising and setting direction on a body case 12. A waterproof cap 23 of rubber is provided on the front part of the body case 12, so as to cover the moving piece 20. When a door 31 is closed, the moving piece 12 is pressed by the door 31 together with the rubber cap 23 to switch off a contact, and with the door 31 open, the pressing force is released to switch on the contact. The wall part at the tip of the rubber cap 23 is made of a low friction material to form a low friction part 23b. Thereby, the contact surface of the rubber cap 23 and the door 31 is made a low friction surface, and the contact surface of the rubber cap 23 and the moving piece 20 is also made a low friction surface.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture control members for operating an apparatus and diaphragms for returning the control members integrally with a front cap, by providing the movable control members integrally jointed to the front cap via one diaphragm each and causing the diaphragm/control members to act as guide devices and also as returning members. SOLUTION: One of the functions of an elastic diaphragm 30 is to move a key 20 in a direction substantially normal to a front cap 10. Another is to produce force necessary to return the key 20 back to the start position when the key 20 is released after the key 20 is operated. Mechanical resistance at operating the key 20 depends on the shape of the diaphragm 30 and on the flexibility of a material used. Advantageously, the diaphragm 30 has a U-shaped cross section. A polycarbonate is used for the front cap 10 and the key 20, and an elastomer for the diaphragm 30, and they are manufactured by injection molding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO

PURPOSE: To light only the desired character clearly in an operation button having the internal lighting. CONSTITUTION: In an operation button provided with plural light sources 24a, 24b for internal lighting, projecting parts 19a, 19b of a transparent primary molding 22 are exposed over the surface of a shading secondary molding 23 to form characters, which correspond to the light sources 24a, 24b separately. A through hole 50 is formed so as to divide the projecting parts 19a, 19b of the primary molding 22, and a shading wall 26 projected from the through hole 50 is formed integrally with the secondary molding 23. Consequently, the light emitted toward each projecting part 19a or 19b is not leaked to the undesired projecting part 19b or 19a, and only the desired character can be lighted clearly. PURPOSE: To prevent the falling of an isolated area and obtain a display pattern having no character cut state by forming an extended part on the light receiving surface of the isolated area, and engaging the extended part with the chamfered surface of an inner cap. CONSTITUTION: An extended part 5 is formed on the surface, receiving the light, of the lamp 8 of an isolated area 24, and the extended part 5 is engaged with the chamfered part 6 of the right receiving surface of an inner cap 2. Hence, as the isolated area 24 can be prevented from falling from the inner cap 2, a connecting part formed of an opaque resin can be cut off by cutting, so that the display pattern 14 of a display part 4 can be prevented from being laid into character cut state even in night time by the formation of shadows. Thus, even if the characters and figures on an operating button contain any isolated area, they can be clearly displayed in both daytime and night. COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrally molded button structure with reduced number of parts, preventing permeation of water or the like from outside, and preventing erroneous switching-on which happens when another part other than a button part of an upper case is pushed. SOLUTION: A button part 3 of the integrally molded button structure, turning on a switch by pushing the button part 3 formed on an upper case 2 of an electronic device 1 having waterproof function preventing the permeation of water or the like by the upper case 2 and a lower case 21, is integrally molded to the upper case 2 of the electronic device 1 without forming any grooves preventing water permeation or the like. The wall thickness of the button part 3 is made to have an elasticity by forming thinner than the upper case 2, and the button part 3 is jointed to the upper case 2 with a smoothly curved surface, and made to curve in convex-shape. A protrusion part 6 is formed on the upper case 2 which holds the button part 3 so as not to be pressed by the influence of the pushing of the upper case 2 even if an another part than the button part 3 on the upper case 2 is pushed.
