An electric guitar has an electromagnetic resonating unit (3) which is arranged to resonate the strings (2) of the guitar, either individually or together. The resonance of each string (2) is picked up by a pick-up unit (4), and the frequency of resonation of the string (2) is detected and compared with a desired value. A tension adjusting unit (5) adjusts the tension in each string (2) until the frequency of resonance of the string (2) correponds to the desired frequency, in order to tune the guitar to a desired tuning pattern. A control panel (6) on the body (1) of the guitar displays optional tuning patterns which may be selected by a user. Automatic tuning of the guitar may be achieved, without requiring the strings (2) to be plucked manually.

174 FASTENING DEVICE FOR AN ELECTRIC GUITAR EP13848556 2013-09-17 EP2912656A4 2016-07-06 THIDELL ANDERS
String fastener in the guitar body of an electric guitar, includes a bridge, carrying one saddle per string located at the upper side of the bridge, across which a string is arranged to run, one saddle per string fastened to the upper side, a downwards directed, pivoted lever arranged at each saddle, at which lever one string end is fastened, a tuning spring fastened with one of its ends to the lever and with its other end to the guitar body, which tuning spring strives to maintain a constant pulling force in a string, and which string fastener is provided with a vibrato arm, which when activated results in the bridge angling towards the guitar body, the vibrato arm being pivotally fastened to and running through the bridge. A fastening element maintains each lever in position, and a release device cooperates with the fastening element to release the levers.
175 CHEVALET MOBILE POUR INSTRUMENT OU APPAREIL À UNE OU PLUSIEURS CORDES EP15020226.5 2015-11-11 EP3021316A1 2016-05-18 Limousin, Jean-Pierre

176 Adjuster for string instruments EP12001185.3 2012-02-22 EP2600338A2 2013-06-05 Goto, Masaki

An adjuster facilitates tuning of a string instrument and does not greatly affect musical sounds. The adjuster includes a frame 30, a second lever 52, an adjusting screw 40, and a first lever 51 (swing transmitting member, transmitting lever, lever portion). The frame 30 is made so as to be removably fixed to a front end portion of a tailpiece 6 with a fixing means 70 and has a screw portion (mounting portion) 35 at the front side of the tailpiece 6. The second lever 52 is made so as to be arranged by passing through an anchor hole 11 formed at the tailpiece 6. The second lever 52 is supported by the frame 30 so as to be swingable in a direction for stretching a string. The second lever 52 has a hook portion (anchoring portion) 56 which projects from a surface of the tailpiece 6 and removably anchors a back end of a string 8. The adjusting screw 40 is mounted by screwing it from the surface side of the tailpiece 6 into the screw portion 35 of the frame 30. The first lever 51 is provided to the frame 30 so as to be interposed between the adjusting screw 40 and the second lever 52. The first lever 51 swings the second lever 52 to a tightening side or a loosening side in the direction for stretching the string according to the screwed amount of the adjusting screw 40.

i) ein Klemmelement (8),
