The invention relates to a mouth prop for animals, formed by two telescopically connected bodies which can be extended, but not bent. The free ends of the bodies are provided with supporting elements for retaining same in the animal's mouth. The bodies also include complementary racks which can be used to move the bodies in order to extend one body in relation to the other and which prevent bending. The lower end of the inner body is provided with a transverse pin, the ends of which are guided along longitudinal grooves provided on the side surface of the outer body. The bodies can have any polygonal profile.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for securing the airway of an animal. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus for securing the airway, in which the person′s hand is not hurt or an animal is not irritated when the mouth of the animal is compulsorily opened; many people need not be mobilized to drug the animal; a bone-shaped bitten part of an elastic material is bitten in the mouth of the animal, thereby allowing the animal to approach the apparatus for securing the airway with intimateness, preventing the teeth of the animal from being hurt, and easily performing works; the length of an auxiliary tube with respect to a pill inducing tube is increased or decreased depending on the length of the muzzle of the animal, thereby stably administering pills without compulsorily pushing the pills into the mouth; and the head of the animal is fixed by a fixing member to prevent the separation of the apparatus for securing the airway, thereby preventing the separation of the apparatus for securing the airway from the animal during working. For achieving these, the present invention provides an apparatus for securing the airway comprising: a bitten part of an elastic material, having an inlet provided in the center thereof and penetration holes provided in both ends thereof; a fixing part of an elastic material, inserted into the penetration holes of the bitten part; caught parts provided at both ends of the fixing part and having larger sizes than the penetration holes; and a pill inducing tube combined with the inlet.

A device and methods for making and using an oral procedure apparatus include a tubular member and a flange. The tubular member forms a lumen extending from a first end of the tubular member to a second end of the tubular member, the lumen having a lumen cross-section sized to admit a human finger extending through the lumen, the tubular member having a tubular cross-section sized to be admitted into a mouth of a patient, the tubular member formed from a material substantially resilient against a bite from the mouth of the patient. The flange is coupled to the first end of the tubular member, the flange having a flange cross-section sized larger than the mouth of the patient.
31 APPARATUS FOR HOLDING OPEN THE MOUTH OF AN ANIMAL WITH ITS JAWS IN A FIXED RELATIONSHIP FOR PERFORMING A MEDICAL OR DENTAL PROCEDURE US14243662 2014-04-02 US20150282915A1 2015-10-08 PETER D. MARO
Apparatus for spacing apart the jaws of an animal, such as a canine, in a fixed relationship during the performance of a medical or dental procedure. The apparatus includes a bite member for spacing apart the teeth of an animal, a strap adapted to be wound around the snout of the animal for confining the snout and a strap connector with the strap connector having one end thereof adapted for attachment to the strap and another end for holding the jaws in relatively tight engagement against the bite member after the strap is wound around the snout.

An animal restraining device and method provide dual capability for restraining an animal and administering medications. A first embodiment provides an administration tube connected to a body with handles which can be grasped by user to position the device either for restraining or administering medications. A second embodiment is a continuous hook-shaped member having a hollow passageway in order to introduce medications. The second embodiment is reversible to place either end of the device in the animal's mouth for restraining or administering medications, depending upon the size of the particular animal. The method of restraint includes positioning the device in the animal's mouth and applying a force to elicit a natural response by the animal which causes the animal to pause or remain motionless for a period of time while a caregiver may treat or examine the animal.
33 Equine dental speculum US11708828 2007-02-21 US20080200768A1 2008-08-21 R. Scott Capps
A improved equine dental speculum includes upper and lower frames pivotably connected to one another, upper and lower jaw and teeth engagement bars mounted on respective ones of the upper and lower frames which fit in the horse's mouth, frame spacing bars extending between and connecting the frame and the frame spacing securement devices which each include a slide stop assembly movably mounted on the frame arm which includes a movably mounted carriage and a stop bar adjustably mounted thereon, the stop bar having a frame arm slot extending transversely therethrough and having dimensions slightly larger than the cross-sectional dimensions of the frame arm and through which the frame arm extends to releasably frictionally engage the frame arm so that the upper and lower frames will open along with the horse's mouth yet prevent the horse from closing its mouth until the stop bar is released.
34 Animal speculum and method of use US844201 1997-04-18 US5718665A 1998-02-17 R. Clay Stubbs
A speculum (20) for opening the jaws of animals (500) includes first (22) and second (30) arms connected by a threaded rod (38). By rotating threaded rod (38), the distance (D) between first (22) and second (30) arms may be selective adjusted. First (22) and second (30) arms have first (28) and second (36) jaw plates respectively, which forcibly open the jaws (502) and (506) of the animal (500). A tension-producing means (100) holds speculum (20) in place in the animal's (500) mouth.
