A locking device for an electrical connector comprises an engaging rod defining an outer screw thread thereon for engaging with a bolt of a mating connector defining an inner screw thread therein, and an additional inserting rod inserted into the engaging rod. The engaging rod comprises a through hole and a pair of gradually narrowed slots disposed around an end thereof in communication with the through hole. The inserting rod is inserted into the through hole of the engaging rod to expand the slots whereby the outer screw thread of the engaging rod latchably engages the inner screw thread defined in a screw hole of the bolt thereby securing the electrical connector and the mating connector together. |

The present invention relates to a loose roof plate retensioning device for the roof of a mine. The device is comprised of an externally threaded split bushing, a spacer unit and an internally threaded nut, the threading being complementary to that of the threaded bushing. When a roof plate becomes loose and drops down on the head of the roof bolt to leave a space between the roof and the roof plate, the device of the present invention allows the roof plate to be snugged against the mine roof. |

The invention relates to a process and device for securing, elongating and compressing a spinal column, of simple design, which is easy and precise in use, leaving no projecting part. The process of the invention for straightening and supporting a spinal column consists in securing screwed implants (10) or hooks on either side of the curvature of the spin and interlinking them by at least two rods (20,21) designed to act as struts; said rods (20,21) are introduced longitudinally into grooves (113) perpendicular to the screw (120) fitted in the body (110) of the implants (10) or hooks and then fixed in the base of the grooves (113) by crimping resulting from the deformation of the sides of the groove (113) by the closing of its sides; said deformation is obtained via a conically-threaded nut (30) and a cylindrical male thread cut around the body (110) of the implants (10). Application: straightening and supporting the spinal column in the event of scoliosis or fracture, for example. |

A fastener system is providing having a male threaded member and a female threaded member with arrangements for achieving a locking connection between the parts to prevent relative rotation of the parts due to vibration. In an embodiment of the invention, the male member is comprised of a folded over plate with threads formed on an end portion, either the folded end or the free ends, or both, which is engageable into the female member. In another embodiment, the male member is formed of two pieces overlying one another with threads formed on the overlying portions. The thickness, width and number of threads on the male member can be selectively determined to provide the desired torque for rotating the two members relative to one another. The male member can be configured as a linear member, an offset member, as a clevis, or other non linear shapes, which shapes are particularly easy to accomplish by forming the male member of two legs either by folding or as separate pieces. |

An improved temporary support pin which may be pushed into place rather than screwed into place and used with either English or metric threads. Resilient arms protruding from the support pin are depressed when a workpiece is pushed over them, and spring back into place to support the workpiece and allow a mechanic to have both hands free for replacing screws which attach the workpiece to its permanent mounting. The embodiment further includes a non-circular cross-section at the end gripped by the mechanic, to permit easy gripping, insertion, turning, and removal of the pin. The improved pin is preferably manufactured in one-step molding, significantly reducing the cost of its manufacture. |

A fastener comprised of longitudinally divided bolt pieces (1,2,3) inserted into the hole, with trailing tips of the bolt pieces connected to a string (5), which is pulled out of a hole into which the bolt pieces are inserted so that the divided bolt pieces are recoupled, with head portions of the divided bolt pieces halted at the other side of the hole. The forwardly exposed shank of the recoupled bolt is fastened by means of a nut or by applying a riveting. |

An improved railroad tie member is formed of two wooden half-ties which are secured together with one or more reverse threaded bolts arranged in parallel with the tracks. The bolts are preferably inserted in the tie halves whereby the bolts may be turned to resecure the two halves while the tie assembly is installed in the track. |

A system is disclosed for holding and displaying samples of fabrics so they can be conveniently examined by prospective customers. Identifying means for each sample are provided so that the customer may order, e.g., by number from rack storage in another part of the mercantile establishment. Pivoted connecting elements mounted for universal rotation are employed to support the fabric holding means in such a way that numbers of large and different fabric samples are displayed clearly, but stored compactly, being supported on elongated, circular or cabinet type racks.

1,122,696. Machining composite workpieces. G. C. MEIBUHR. 19 Aug., 1966 [25 Aug., 1965], No. 37331/66. Heading B3T. [Also in Division F2] A method of making a screw-thread insert comprises the steps of cutting a cylindrical metal tube in an axial direction to form first and second semi-circular metal pieces, holding these pieces together in a chuck with their cut portions abutting along a line 72, machining the outside and inside diameters to a circular condition, with tools 77 and 78, and, if required, forming inside and outside chamfers at the exposed end of the composite member with tools 79 and 80, producing a continuous screw-thread on the outside surfaces, which screw-thread is thus matched at the abutting cut portions, holding together the two matched threaded members 74 and 75 by means of a nut 82 threadedly engaging the newly cut thread, and cutting off an axial length of the threaded arcuate metal pieces by means of a tool 83. |
