A self-locking bolt assembly (1) includes a split bolt (2) and a screw set pin (3). The pin shaft (10) is sufficiently long to ensure that the screw set pin (3) further into the bore (6) without galling threads of the screw section (1OB). The tapered end section (10A) of the pin shaft has a taper angle (a) that is less than a taper angle ((3) of the tapered end section (6C) of the bore (6) to allow a narrowed end portion of the tapered end section (I OA) of the pin shaft (10) to engage a narrowed end portion of the tapered end section (6C) of the bore (6).

The invention relates to a component comprising an outer thread for inserting into an inner thread (1), a threaded bolt, and a component body (2) which is connected to the threaded bolt, the threaded bolt being formed by two threaded shells (3), a splaying element (4) that can be inserted between two shells, and an elastic counter-pressure element (14) to press the threaded shells (3) onto the splaying element (4). The threaded shells (3) have a friction adhesion region (5') and a tapering splaying/sliding region (5). The course of displacement of the splaying element (4) is limited by a course limiting element comprising a front abutment and a rear abutment (6,7). According to prior art, the components can block during the splaying process and two counter-pressure elements are required. According to the invention, this is avoided by positioning a splaying/sliding region (5) at a distance from the ends of the threaded bolt, and the counter-pressure element (14) is arranged in a peripheral receiving recess (8) in the outer wall of the threaded shells (3), surrounding the same.

The present invention provides devices and methods for indicating or gauging the position of one or more holes in a workpiece. In one aspect of the present invention reusable devices that can be removably engaged with a bore or tapped hole in a workpiece for accurately indicating the center axis of the bore or tapped hole are provided. An exemplary device in accordance with the present invention includes an expandable shank, indicating surface, and driving head. The driving head can be used to install the device into a hole in a workpiece. The expandable shank can be expanded to positively engage the device with the hole in the workpiece and the indicating surface can be referenced, with a probe, to determine the center axis of the hole in the workpiece.
