One or more pumping chambers are defined between the periphery of the rotor and the internal contour of the cam through which the vanes pass carrying fluid from an inlet port 19 to an outlet port 22. Two pressure chambers are formed for each vane and each vane has two surfaces one in each chamber, both being effective under pressure in the respective chambers to urge the vanes into engagement with the cam. The cartridge includes two support plates 14, 15. One of the plates supports an annular shaft seal 41 that engages a shaft rotatably mounted in a housing 11 and supporting the rotor such that when the cartridge is removed from the housing, the shaft seal is simultaneously removed. PURPOSE:To make an automatic axle transmission small-sized by exciding a part of the outer periphery of a pump body to let a final drive pinion enter, and disposing an intake port near the excided portion and arranging a discharge port and necessary oil holes apart therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A part of the outer periphery of a pump body is excided, and a final drive pinion 10 is let enter the excided portion 18a. An intake port 20 is disposed near the excided portion 18a, and a torque converter release oil hole 22, a torque converter apply oil hole 23, a high-clutch pressure oil hole and a reverse clutch pressure oil hole 25 are disposed apart from the excided portion 18a. Thus, the distance between shafts of an oil pump and the final drive pinion is reduced to make an automatic transmission axle small- sized, and a raised portion produced by the oil holes is not produced in the intake port so as to prevent lowering of a pump performance. A raised portion 26 is produced in the discharge port 21 so as to reinforce the discharge port portion.

PURPOSE:To improve the performance of the pump, miniaturize the size and reduce the weight thereof by a method wherein leaking fluid, reserved in the oil seal part of a rotor rotating shaft, is introduced into the suction side of the pump which never affect to a flow amount control valve or the like. CONSTITUTION:A front body 11 which forms a pump body, a rotor 13, a cam 14 and a side plate 32 arranged at one side of the ring 14 are accommodated in an assembled condition. A pump accommodating space 31, forming a pump delivery side pressure chamber 21 at the bottom side thereof between the side plate 32, is provided. A groove 48, connected to the oil seal part 47 at the outer end side of the rotating shaft 18 of the rotor 13 through a passing hole 49, is provided at one part of the inner periphery of the pump accommodating space 31 and is connected to a pump suction side 19 through the groove 50 of path formed on the side plate 32. According to this method, the leaking liquid, reserved in the oil seal part 47, may be introduced into the pump suction side 19 which will never affect to the flow amount control valve 17 or the like and, thus, the performance of the pump may be improved and the miniaturization as well as the reduction of weight of the pump may be contributed by this method.

The invention relates to a pump for delivering a fluid, especially a vane-cell pump, comprising a delivery device which is accommodated in a casing (2), a casing cover (3) located on the face, and optionally comprising a bearing flange (4) which is joined to the casing (2) on the side opposite said casing cover (3). A seal (5, 6) is arranged between the casing (2) and the casing cover (3) and is optionally arranged between the casing (2) and the bearing flange (4). In addition, the seal (5, 6) is inserted in a groove (8, 9) which is constructed in the casing cover (3) and which is optionally constructed in the bearing flange (4) and/or in the corresponding front face (7) of the casing (2). A leakage path (13) for the fluid extends between the delivery side (11) and the suction side (12). According to the invention, oil leakage located on the delivery side is effectively carried away while procedures relating to the construction or manufacturing techniques of the pump are reduced. The invention is characterized in that the leakage path (13) runs at least parallel, in areas, with regard to the seal (5, 6) on the seal inner side (14) - media side.
