181 Locking mechanism for sash type windows US995590 1992-12-22 US5244238A 1993-09-14 Per O. Lindqvist
A locking mechanism for windows having upper and lower sashes slidably disposed in a window frame. The mechanism has three modes, that is a locked mode, an unlocked mode and an auxiliary mode. In the locked mode at least one sash clamp mounted on a transverse rail of one sash engages a cooperating receiving element mounted to the adjacent transverse rail of the other sash, whilst a spring-biased pawl projects into a guide groove in the window frame. In the unlocked mode the sash clamp disengages the receiving element to allow the sashes to be slid relative to each other. In the auxiliary mode the spring-biased pawl is withdrawn from the guide groove to permit the sash to be moved transversely for cleaning.
182 Cabinet fastener US923031 1992-07-31 US5230541A 1993-07-27 Ralph M. Nowak
A fastener for cabinets is provided, which can be easily adjusted to securely fasten together the paired handles of a cabinet, regardless of their spacing. The cabinet fastener includes a housing having, on one side, a latch opening of predetermined width, a finger opening disposed adjacent the latch opening and a stop disposed between the latch opening and the finger opening. One end of a flexible, elongated band having two ends passes through an opening in the housing on the side opposite the side having the latch opening, and is adjustably retained in said housing. A resilient primary latch is disposed at the opposite end of the band, which has a normal width greater than the width of the latch opening and is adapted to resiliently deflect to a smaller width to fit through the latch opening and spring back so that a portion of the primary latch protrudes into the finger opening and engages the stop, preventing the primary latch from being pulled from the latch opening.
183 Apparatus and method for latching sliding closures US689296 1991-04-22 US5092640A 1992-03-03 David D. Plummer
An improved method and apparatus for latching and securing closure members within a frame are disclosed. A switching latch operatively secured to a first closure member engages a keeper secured to a second closure member and is rotationally operable to secure the closure members within the frame by simultaneously imparting translational forces to closure members through the keeper along two mutually orthogonal axes.
184 Locking mechanism for sash type windows US637177 1991-01-03 US5090750A 1992-02-25 Per-Olof Lindqvist
A locking mechanism for windows having upper and lower sashes slidably disposed in a window frame. In the locked position of the mechanism, locking bolts mounted on the transverse rail of one sash engage a sidewall of a guide groove in the window frame, thereby forcing that sash towards the other sash to effect a better seal between the sashes. Optionally, at least one sash clamp mounted on a transverse rail of one sash is adapted to engage a cooperating receiving element affixed to the adjacent transverse rail of the other sash. In the unlocked position of the mechanism, the sash clamp disengages the receiving element, and the locking bolts release contact with the sidewall of the guide groove while still remaining within the groove. The locking mechanism also has a release position in which the locking bolts are retracted from the guide groove to permit the sash to be moved transversely for cleaning.
185 Lock protecting hasp US181949 1980-08-27 US4372136A 1983-02-08 Thorwald J. Mickelson
Lock-protecting hasp for trailer full swing rear doors having locking bars which secures to the bars of the rear doors and includes two mating members and a shackle lock whether the lock be key or combination. A protecting block against the lock on the female mating member protects the shackle of the lock from being cut or pried off the body of the lock, or between the shackle, the body and the lock-protecting hasp. Longitudinal opposing slots and a ribbed locking bar on the male mating member provide for adjustability between the two members for accepting door bars spaced any distance dependent upon the type of trailer. The lock-protecting hasp particularly lends itself to use on semi-trailers having full swing rear doors and the lock-protecting hasp accepts a lock of predetermined size.

196 LOCKING DEVICES FOR GATES AND THE LIKE EP98936655 1998-08-04 EP1135569A4 2009-03-04 AVGANIM MEIR
A locking device (20) for double-wing gates (10, 12). The lock comprises a pair of base plates (16, 18), each secured to one of the wings so that in the closed position thereof the members (18d, 16d) are located side by side. At least one of the projecting members is formed with a dead-body receiving cavity (16g, 18g). A lock body (20) is provided, having a side portion formed with respective recesses (20a, 20b) configured and located so as to fit over both the projecting members. The lock body (20) is equipped with a key-operated locking mechanism (22) comprising at least one dead-bolt receiving cavity of the respective anchor member thereby preventing the disengagement of the lock body (20) from both anchor members. The projections (16d, 18d) may be in the form of elongated ribs, or cylindrical pins.
197 DEVICE FOR SEPARATING GASKET OF REFRIGERATOR EP05780576.4 2005-08-17 EP1861667A1 2007-12-05 OH, Joon Hwan; KIM, Seong Jae; WOO, Ki Chul; SHIM, Jang Ho; KIM, Seung Yup; HONG, Jong Ho; LEE, Sang Yeul
A device for separating a gasket of a refrigerator incldues: a plurality of doors connected to the refrigerator body by a hinge portion; a gasket assembly installed at each of the doors, for sealing gaps between the doors; a connecting member at leat two locations of which are connected to the gasket assembly; and a gasket operating mechanism for pulling the connecting member so that the gasket assembly is separated from the opposite door when the door are opend and closed, or for firmly attaching the gasket assembly toward the opposite door when the doors are closed. As a result, the reliability of a gasket separating operation is improved by overally uniformly separating the gaskets when the doors are opened or closed, and accordingly an interference with the opposit edoor is minimized to open and close the doors more easily and lengthen the life span of the gaskets.
