A method for dyeing of textiles in a liquid bath and an apparatus for performing the process which effectively stirs the dye bath resulting in a more homogeneous color distribution in the bath. The method also results in a faster drying process of the goods. Thus, the dyeing processing time has been reduced while the dyeing of the goods has been made more uniform. |

The device for tanning, dyeing or the like, comprises a horizontal rotary drum mounted on a hollow shaft and having a cylindrical drum jacket, which is sealed at the front ends by means of closing walls and contains in its interior a tanning or dyeing compartment subdivided into three treatment chambers by means of three perforated equiangularly spaced radial partition walls. The rotary drum comprises on its exterior a number of pockets corresponding to the number of the treatment chambers, each pocket being in joint communication with respectively two treatment chambers. During the rotation of the rotary drum in one direction of rotation the treatment medium emerges approximately radially from a treatment chamber and enters a pocket in the area of one frontal drum end from which a partial stream flows into another pocket to be mixed with the treatment medium disposed in this pocket and then approximately radially into a treatment chamber. The other partial stream flows simultaneously to the opposite drum end into an associated pocket, is mixed with the treatment medium contained therein, and flows from this pocket approximately inwards into the same treatment chamber. Rotation of the rotary drum in the direction of rotation opposite thereto causes a corresponding scooping of the treatment medium to occur at the other frontal drum end and in the opposite flow direction. |

A process for the wet treatment of a roll of textile material comprises passing a liquid from a source thereof in a substantially radial direction through a segment-shaped zone of the roll and relatively moving the roll and the liquid source so as to traverse the entire circumference of the roll. The flow of liquid through such zone may be either radially inward or radially outward of the roll and the liquid which passes through the roll at such zone may be caused to pass through the roll at another circumferentially spaced zone for recovery.

In dyeing processes the velocity of the dyeing liquid when passing through the material to be treated is important. The forcing of the liquid through the material imposes a heavy load upon the pump, and it has been found, that a more uniform dyeing is obtained with less expenditure of power if the dyeing apparatus is provided with at least two compartments into which the bulk of material to be treated may be placed in two smaller batches. The two compartments are alternatingly connected to the pump, in such a manner that one compartment will always contain flowing liquid while the other contains liquid at rest. The term for switching over may be selected with respect to the material to be treated and the type of dyestuff, but each period of activity should be sufficient long to permit a complete substitution of the liquid within the compartment.

An apparatus for the dyeing of textile articles generally with a substantially rotating current circulation bath comprising a tank containing the dyeing bath provided with inlets to provoke circulation by means of fluids under pressure. Heating means are provided on the inside of the tank. The tank is autoclave shaped and supported about a horizontal bath provided on the inside of the tank by means of feeding means. A closing seal device is provided on an opening of the skirt of the tank for the loading and unloading of materials respectively to be treated and materials already treated.

The steps of placing material to be treated in a container, forming the material as separate bodies by placing the material in separate chambers and providing a relatively small clearance between the bodies and the chambers; forming the chambers as part of a heat-exchanger and providing a circulating treatment fluid (heating or cooling) in controlled quantities and maintaining the temperature within the chambers at a desired level; circulating the fluid in a closed circulation system and recirculating the treatment fluid repeatedly through the bodies of material and/or reversing the direction of flow of treatment fluid through the chamber.

The invention relates to a method for the heat treatment of textile goods (31) such as yarns, woven materials, and knit materials, the textile goods being introduced into a closed container (1) and therein exposed at least once to a negative pressure in a series of treatment steps, and subsequently treated with saturated steam. A container (1) is used having a treatment chamber (8) for accepting and treating the textile goods (31) and a pressure-resistant water steam accumulator chamber (9) separated therefrom, said accumulator chamber being connected to the treatment chamber via closable steam lines (21) and a water volume (10) being introduced therein. The water volume (10) in the steam accumulator chamber (9) is heated to a prescribed load temperature with the steam lines (21) closed, while a negative pressure is generated in the container (1) after the textile goods have been introduced and maintained for a prescribed time. Steam will then flow from the steam accumulation chamber (9) into the treatment chamber (8) and act on the textile goods (31) during a prescribed period of time. After the heat treatment is ended, the water volume (10) in the steam accumulator (9) is heated up to the load temperature again. |

In a process for dyeing a substrate in a supercritical fluid, an additive-free dye is absorbed in the supercritical fluid and flows over and/or through the substrate to be dyed. A usual additive-containing dye is selected for dyeing and is separated into additives and additive-free dye before dyeing the substrate. The separated, additive-free dye is then directly absorbed in the supercritical fluid used for dyeing or in another liquid. |
