7 Shaft drive for a power loom US11639199 2006-12-15 US20070137719A1 2007-06-21 Gerhard Pohl
The heddle shaft (1) according to the invention combines a traditional heddle machine (2) with an eccentric toothed gearing to purposely allow the heddle shaft (1) to dwell for longer periods of time in the upper and lower reversing region and to reduce any accelerations that occur. This permits an increase in the weaving speed and/or the weaving widths. For a particularly advantageous embodiment, a coupling device is additionally provided, which gives the heddle shaft (1) a pendulum movement with a stroke ranging from a few millimeters to centimeters during the idle phases, meaning when no sheds are formed. As a result of the pendulum movement of the heddle shaft (1) in the upper or lower reversing region, the acceleration loads on the heddle shaft (1) can be further reduced.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved shaft drive for a weaving machine having one or plural heddle shaft.
SOLUTION: The heddle shaft (1) is obtained by combining a traditional heddle machine (2) with an eccentric gear to decrease occurred acceleration by intentionally dwelling for a longer time in the upper and lower side reversing regions. This permits an increase of the weaving speed and/or the weaving widths. For a particularly advantageous embodiment, a coupling device is additionally provided, which gives the heddle shaft (1) a pendulum movement with a stroke ranging from a few millimeters to a few centimeters during the idle phase, that is, when no shed is formed. As a result of the pendulum movement of the heddle shaft (1) in the upper and lower side reversing regions, the acceleration loads on the heddle shaft (1) can be further reduced.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

When a fabric including a plurality of woven parts constituted by a plurality of unit woven designs different in woven texture, weft constitution or weft density is woven, weaving process information is stored. The weaving process information includes a plurality of design weaving patterns which are set so as to correspond to the respective unit woven designs and so as to be independent of each other, information on the weaving process of one repeat of a fabric woven texture using each of the design weaving patterns, and information on a woven length which is set so as to be related to the weaving process. In each of the design weaving patterns, the drive mode of the weaving-associated device is set for each of weaving cycles constituting one repeat of loom cycles forming the unit woven design. In accordance with a process sequence set in the weaving process information, each of the design weaving patterns is read out, and the weaving-associated device is driven, thereby weaving the set woven length of the fabric.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of electrical troubles in an inverter caused by an excessive regenerative voltage generated from a main shaft motor driving a main shaft during the reduction of the rotational speed of the main shaft when a weaving condition is changed, and to prevent the deterioration in the quality of a woven fabric in a loom for weaving a fabric including at least two woven parts woven in different weaving conditions, where the rotational speed of the main shaft is set in each of the weaving conditions and is changed when the weaving condition is changed during continuous operation.SOLUTION: In a weaving method for the loom, when a weaving condition is changed during continuous operation of the loom, and at the same time, the rotational speed of the main shaft is reduced to a set rotational speed corresponding to the weaving condition after the change, the reduction of the rotational speed of the main shaft is performed over a deceleration period of at least two loom cycles. Blank beating is performed without weft insertion in each loom cycle during the deceleration period.
