Cleaning of a textile machine (10) or part (18, 24, 40) of such a machine (10) is effected using a cleaning device (22) which directs a laser beam at the part (18, 24, 40) to be cleaned for an appropriate length of time. This may be done with the part (18, 24, 40) in situ in its normal operating position in the machine (10), and the machine (10) may be run in its normal operating condition, possibly with the yarn (23) running to avoid machine down time. Alternatively, the operation may include moving the yarn (23) to a substitute part (24') whilst the original part (24) is cleaned, or moving a substitute part (24') into the normal operating position whilst the part (24) to be cleaned is moved to a cleaning position. A lens system (27b) may direct a parallel beam to the part (18, 24) to be cleaned from a remote location, or a fibre optic cable (45) may extend near to that part (40) to guide the laser beam to it. |

A textile machine for coiling or twisting in which covering yarn (22) placed on a supporting reel (20) is wound around a core yarn (24) by means of a reel holder spindle (18). The machine includes a bench and a set of twisting spindles supported in a rotating manner on the machine bench (16) in which, for each spindle (18), a spindle containing element (46) is provided so as to contain the spindle (18) and reel (20); the latter covering yarn is held in such a way as to twist the yarn inside the container. The container (46) is fixed to the machine frame (16), and means are provided for admitting air, and expelling it from the container (46) in order to remove free particles of yarn which would otherwise be absorbed into the twisted yarn, and to cool the twisting zone. |

An air diffuser for distributing conditioned air to air jet spinning machines and the like which includes a tubular outer member formed with openings therein and a tubular inner member disposed within the outer member and made of a fabric material that is formed in part with a relatively closed mesh construction and in part with a relatively open mesh construction that emits air over a predetermined arcuate flow path, and this conditioned air is then diffused by the openings in the outer member so that the conditioned air is directed toward the spinning machine with a predetermined flow pattern, and at a low velocity. |

A fluff suppression apparatus (1) comprising a pair of rollers (11,12) disposed with axes of rotation thereof crossed with each other and in contact with each other for nipping and sending out a yarn (Y), and at least one of the pair of rollers has, at a contacting portion thereof with the yarn, has resiliency and flexibility and has a cavity formed in the inside thereof. |

A unit for drawing a sliver of textile fibres includes a drawing head (1) with a plurality of combs (8) which are movable along an endless path. Brushes for cleaning the combs (8) are carried by motor-driven shafts (12) and are adapted to collect windings of fibres formed on the combs. Sensors detect the accumulation of textile fibres on the brushes (8) and cause the intervention of a cycle in which the whole of a winding which has started to form is collected automatically on the brush in question and the intervention of a device which replaces said brush (10) with a spare brush (10a). |

213 | Method and means for producing yarn | EP83302333.6 | 1983-04-25 | EP0123740A1 | 1984-11-07 | Lipschitz, Barry |
The manufacture of yarn is disclosed by a machine which coats a filament with synthetic plastics material and then applies discrete textile fibres to the tacky layer. The fibres are obtained by tearing a sliver using toothed wheels. All those parts of the machine which are not essentially in the same environment as the wheels are on the opposite suide (14) of partitioning (12) to the wheels. Thus the parts which are separated from the wheels by the partitioning (12) are in a substantially fibre free atmosphere, and can be in a closed, pressurized room thus minimising the flow of fibres to these parts. |
