A washbasin has a washbasin depression and a periphery encircling this washbasin depression, wherein the periphery, over a significant part of its longitudinal extent, runs at the same height above the washbasin depression. The washbasin is provided with two elevated shoulder regions which preferably each have a planar top side and are located at a higher level than the periphery around the washbasin depression. It is possible for them to merge into one another or overlap one another and to serve for the arrangement of a sanitary fitting on it. |

The invention relates to a glass or glass-ceramic washbasin. The inventive washbasin is characterized in that it essentially comprises at least one part (1) which forms a water receptacle and which is made from glass or glass-ceramic and at least one part (2) which prevents the water from flowing from the first part (1). In addition, the assembly is provided with a water drain hole (3). The aforementioned first part (1) is equipped with a groove (2′) for receiving the lower edge of the second part (2) and said two parts (1 and 2) are assembled by means of a glue that is injected into the base of the groove (2′) prior to assembly. The invention is particularly suitable for household equipment, such as washbasins that are made from glass or glass-ceramic. |

A sink having a base and at least one sidewall extending around and extending upwardly from the base. At least one fluid nozzle is attached to the sidewall adjacent its top so that, upon connection to a pressurized fluid source, the nozzle produces a fluid flow which is transverse to and intersects the sidewall adjacent its top. The nozzle thus produces a swirling action of the fluid around the sidewall of the sink thereby cleaning the sink. |

A dual capacity sink has two basins divided by a divider which extends to a much lesser height than the peripheral walls of the sink. In one capacity the sink is capable of holding a volume of fluid, such as soap or rinse water, in one or both of the basins up to the top the divider. In this capacity, the basins can be used individually, for example, one to wash and one to rinse. In another capacity the sink is capable of holding a second volume of fluid using the two basins and also the available space in the sink above the divider. In this second capacity the sink effectively becomes a large single basin sink. There is sufficient fluid in the sink above the divider for submerging items that are larger than either of the basins individually. A method of washing items in such a sink is also disclosed. |

Polymeric plumbing fixtures such as sinks, lavatories and tubs are disclosed that comprise a thermoformed or molded interior shell having a top side with a relatively smooth, polymeric surface; a polymeric reinforcing layer bonded to the underside of the shell; and a thermoformed or polymeric cap nestably engageable with the underside of the reinforced shell. The cap cooperates with the shell to encapsulate the reinforcing layer and the reinforcing layer bonds the cap the shell to form a unitary structure. The polymeric cap thereby provides an attractive, finished surface on the underside of the resultant fixture. The structural configuration disclosed herein is particularly preferred for use in making kitchen sinks. A method for making the subject fixtures is also disclosed. |

A system comprising a plurality of prefabricated tiled panels for installation on walls, floors and counters and intended for both interior or exterior use. Panels are selected to each include a particular segment of the overall tiled array. Thus, when all the panels are installed in a previously laid out configuration and the installation is completed, the installation displays the entire tile design without unsightly breaks. Provision is made for fastening panels to framing studs or flat surfaces. Each panel comprises a single base member made from any of a selection of materials that do not need waterproofing, and any size and type of tiles. It is easy to install by any relatively unskilled person. Benefits to builders and homeowners include good quality control due to the controlled manufacturing of the panels, low cost due to methods and materials employed, and practical low cost installation, requiring substantially less skill than that required for present day on site tiling. Also, faster installation resulting in better scheduling and less intrusion into construction projects. |

A washing facility including a receptacle fabricated in sheet material with deck portions. The preferred receptacle has vertical front and rear planar walls joined by an arcuate central wall. The rear wall has an inlet, and the front wall has an overflow and an outlet, the former being visible but the latter being obscured from the front of the facility. A water supply unit on the exterior of the receptacle under the deck includes a nozzle over the inlet, for ejecting water from the inlet in an arcing laminar sheet, and valves connected to the nozzle. Valve control handles are slidably mounted on the deck and connected to the valves through the deck. A water drainage unit on the exterior of the receptacle has a chamber over the overflow and the outlet, stopper slidable between open and closed position, and a drain conduit leading from the chamber. A stopper handle located on the inner surface of the receptacle is attached to the stopper for moving the stopper between its two positions. The installed facility eliminates the undesirable projection of conventional spouts and handles into the washing area. |
