193 Lubricant for production of seamless steel tube JP9561984 1984-05-15 JPS60240796A 1985-11-29 AKITA SHINJI; HATANAKA MASAYUKI; ODA TATSUHARU; KANDA NOBORU; YOKOYAMA KENZOU; AOKI KENICHI
PURPOSE: To obtain a lubricant for the production of seamless steel tubes, which can be fixed to the surface of a mandrel bar over a wide temp. range and has excellent lubricating performance, by dispersing a water-insoluble fine synthetic resin powder, fine gilsonite powder and graphite in water. CONSTITUTION: 16W36wt% water-insoluble fine synthetic resin powder, 15W40 wt% gilsonite powder and 30W69wt% graphite are dispersed in water. Optionally, a surfactant, a high-molecular dispersion stabilizer, an alkaline substance, etc. may be used for the purpose of stably dispersing said powders in water. The reason why asphalt component is limited to fine gilsonite powder is that when other asphalt component is used, adherability during film formation is lowered and particularly, the quantity of the depositing lubricant and bond strength are greatly reduced during re-coating. The synthetic resin must be water-insoluble and must have a glass transition temp. lower than the surface temp. of a mandrel bar to be coated with the lubricant. COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio

PURPOSE: A modified graphite fluoride, obtained by partially decomposing a graphite fluoride by irradiation with electromagnetic waves, having improved lubricity characteristics, and suitable for a solid lubricants. CONSTITUTION: A modified graphite fluoride obtained by decomposing and modifying within 0.01W50wt%, preferably 0.1W10wt%, range graphite fluoride (GF), consisting of (CF) n or/and (C 2F) n, and having generally 0.01W100μ particle diameter under irradiation with electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves of any wavelengths generally called the electromagnetic waves within about 10 -17W10 5m wavelength region, may be used, but preferably the wavelength is within 10 -4W10 -7cm range. An organic solvent, e.g. ethanol, or water containing a surfactant is used as a dispersing agent for the GF. An aqueous solution of an alkali, e.g. NaOH, is used for accelerating the decomposition rate of the GF. When the resultant modified GF is used as a lubricant, the moldability of a molding material is improved due to the good dispersibility in oil, etc. and good compatibility with a resin, and a lower specific abrasion ratio than the unmodified GF is exhibited.
