A method and system for displaying objects are disclosed. The display system includes a cabinet having at least one viewing compartment such as a shelf and a light source mounted in the back of the cabinet. The system also includes a plurality of generally rectangularly shaped cases such as a compact disc case each of which has at least one generally transparent side and one generally transparent end edge adjoining the transparent side. Each case also has a generally opaque label affixed to the inside surface of the transparent end edge. The cases are arranged in the viewing compartment in an abutting side by side manner and positioned in the viewing compartment with respect to the light source so that the transparent sides of the abutting cases are capable of receiving and transmitting light from the light source to the transparent end edges of the cases where the light illuminates the labels affixed to the inside surfaces of the transparent end edges. |

A versatile system for storing IBM 3480 cartridge system tapes positively retains the cartridges in compartmented containers. Positive retention is accomplished by small upstanding tabs that engage a notch formed in each tape cartridge. The container is useable with storage racks designed for new installations of the IBM 3480 system. The container is further useable in retrofit applications in which the IBM 3480 cartridge system replaces previous magnetic tape reels. Retrofit installations may include standard rails for attaching to pre-existing storage racks and hanger bars fastened to the containers for hanging the containers on the rails. The present invention includes double channel rails designed to be vertically spaced on pre-existing racks that cooperate to suspend the containers in vertical attitudes. The containers may include latches on the bottom panels that cooperate with the rails to prevent undesired container tilting on the rack. |

A fabricated, knock-down merchandise display fixture which includes a base having forwardly disposed generally vertically extending spaced structural arms mounted in coupled relation to the base, generally adjacent the forward boundary of the base, and extending upwardly relative to the base, with the arms being adapted to provide structural support for the merchandise display deck of the fixture, and with the coupling of the arms providing for folding of the arms relative to the base, thus decreasing the overall height of the base and arms and facilitating shipment of the fixture in knock-down condition. A drawer structure adapted for being disposed in sliding condition on the base, is provided with the drawer including a removable front panel with a rotatable cam lock for detachably securing the front panel to the drawer. The general idea is to simplify the assembly and skill necessary to assemble the fixture at the site of use, while facilitating shipment of the fixture to the site. |

An improved decorative display assembly having the aspect of a three dimensional sculpture is provided, as well as a novel kit and the present novel method of fabricating the same. In this regard, a frame may be provided to which a first series of display sheets are separately connected in spaced relation. The sheets may be, for example, photos, prints, fluorescent cards or other sheets bearing decorative indicia on one side thereof. The prints have been made self-supporting by attaching mounting boards to the indicia-free sides thereof. These first sheets form a first structural level for the assembly. Spacers, preferably in the form of small blocks, are then fixedly connected to marginal portions of the photo-bearing surfaces of the prints, whereupon a second series of prints are connected adjacent their margins, and via their mounting board backings to the first sheets so as to only partially overlap the first sheets and thus form a second structural level to the sculpture.Additional series of display sheets can be similarly connected to provide additional structural level, all to ultimately form the desired three dimensional multi-level sculpture montage effect of free form or predetermined shape. The end product is a highly decorative display. The display sheets can be coated with clear plastic or the like to render them permanently protected, whereupon the finished individualized sculpture assembly can be mounted on a table, wall or the like for display. The kit provides the necessary materials for fabricating the assembly according to individual taste or according to patterns which can be included in the kit. The kit may include, in addition to the previously described components, such items as temporary supports to align components before they are permanently fixed in place, color coded edge margins for the prints, etc. The box in which the kit can be supplied can itself form part of the kit in that it can be used as a support frame, if desired, for the assembly. Moreover, lighting means, fluorescent cards and other decorative display means, such as screens, can be incorporated into the kit to facilitate fabrication of the desired decorative assembly. |

A security collar (1) for placement around the base (2) of a display package to prevent removal of a cover (9) from the base to protect merchandise contained therein. An EAS security tag is (39) contained in the collar. A magnetically actuated lock mechanism is formed on the collar to lock the collar in a closed locked position on the display package. The collar (1) includes a pair of semi-circular housing members (15, 16) pivotally joined at one end and swingable between open and closed positions. The collar (1) is formed with spaced projections which trap the base (2) and portions of the cover (9) therebetween to secure the collar (1) about the base (2) and cover (9). Each of the housing members each locking teeth which mutually engage each other to secure the housing members in locked position. |
