PURPOSE: To securely hold the whole forearm of an operator on an elbow rest at any position by providing the elbow rest with a recessed part which extends along the whole forearm by a molding consisting of one member formed of the elbow rest and a control lever. CONSTITUTION: The operation device 1 is arranged on the side wall of a vehicle body 3 in the operator's cab of a forklift 2 arid provided by the steering wheel 4. The device 1 includes the nearly vertical control lever 5, which is formed as one molding member together with the elbow rest 6 which is supported almost horizontally. An adjusting device 8 consisting of a guide hinge 14 and support elements 26 and 28 is coupled with the reverse surface of the elbow rest 6. The elbow rest 6 is equipped with a molded support surface 9 extending over the overall length of the forearm of the operator, i.e., from the elbow joint to the hand doing operation. This support surface 9 reaches the lever 5 to form one molding member of the integrated lever 5 and elbow rest 6. The cistern-shaped recessed part 11 is formed within the range of connection with the lever 5 and serves as a fixed lower support part for the hand doing the operation. |
