118,287. Hribar, A. Aug. 13, 1917, [Convention date]. Ploughs.-A motor-plough is provided with a number of shares T - - T which are arranged in two groups, the shares of each group having mould boards turned to the right and to the left respectively, and each group having a separate draw-bar to which the shares are independently connected, the draw-bar being attached by links to the axle of the machine. In the form shown, two draw-bars M, M , connected by rods D D , D D to the axle B B' of the driving wheels A A , carry sleeves by which the shares are independently secured through their beams, the depth of working of each plough being controlled by adjusting the height of a wheel secured to the beam. The ploughs are lifted by chains r - - r which are attached to drums R R R , V V V driven through a countershaft and clutches from the driveing wheel axle. The diameters of the driving drums are so proportioned that each plough is lifted the same distance and the point of attachment of the chains to the drums is so arranged that the ploughs are lifted in sequence, the ends of the furrows being in a straight line. A crankarm projects from the shaft of each set of lifting drums and, when the ploughs have been raised sufficiently, this arm operates a chain throwing out the clutch of the lifting gear, a pawl retaining the drum shaft in position. If desired; one or more of the ploughs may be set to slide on the ground to ease the motor when deep tilling is being done. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a modification in which the mould boards of all the ploughs are turned the same way, the ploughs in this modification all being secured to the same frame. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
