66 Enhanced Knit Fabric Fire Barrier for Mattresses US13440775 2012-04-05 US20120255128A1 2012-10-11 Ronald M. Sytz
An enhanced knit fabric fire barrier for mattresses and method for making same, the fabric barrier including a looped terry knitted fabric with a jersey side and a looped terry side; the jersey side including a fire retardant yarn and a melting yarn; the looped terry side including a fire retardant yarn; the loops in the jersey side are very high loops between about 4 mm and about 8 mm which char to provide a fire barrier for latex and highly volatile foams in mattresses. Also a double knit construction and method for making same, the fabric providing improved performance with the addition of a fire retardant yarn on the outside of the loops. Also, an enhanced fire-resistant full-foam mattress.
67 Carpet having a raschel fabric to the back face US10570841 2004-09-10 US20070089465A1 2007-04-26 Masahiko Imaizumi
A carpet is having a raschel fabric to the back face. The raschel fabric consists of wefts which are inlay-yams and warps which are chain-stitched yarns. The warp consists of chain-stitched ground yarns 3a, 3b, and a pile yarn 4 which forms standing loop piles on specified courses and which is chain-stitched with the ground yarns except said specified courses. The pile yarn consists of two mono-filaments 5, 5. The two mono-filaments 5, 5 are twisted at least one time per the length of each loop pile. Cut piles are formed by mechanically cutting the each loop pile near the top thereof. The two mono-filaments in the cut pile are disjoining each other and standing with inclination at random direction on the raschel fabric. When the carpet is placed on the surface of a mat, each mono-filament which is formed on the back face of the carpet, bites into the surface of the mat. Therefore, it is prevented that the carpet is displaced.
68 Elastic warp-knit fabric US10526117 2003-08-28 US20060059954A1 2006-03-23 Hiroaki Hirayama; Akihiko Hori
Thick main elastic yarn (14), which is thicker than main stitch yarn, and main inserted yarn (15), which is more bulky and thicker than the main elastic yarn (14) in appearent thickness, are knitted in line in the knitting width direction (C) or in the knitting length direction (W) of mesh like base knitted fabric (10) which is knitted up with main stitch yarns (11, 12, 13) by using warp knitting machine and which have opening (16) which is larger than needle loop formed from the stitch yarn (11, 12, 13) and is extending over plural knitting courses. In accordance with the present invention, the warp knitted elastic fabric which is useful for the cushioning surface of car-seat and a like, does not cause a recess and loosened pucker result from load-hysteresis fatigue at use for the cushioning surface, is rich in dimensional stability and does not cause a distortion of stitch openings, is rich in air-permeability and does not give stuffy feeling, is able to maintain limbs in comfortable posture without in slippage when limbs are put on the cushioning surface, has soft touch feeling, is not glossy and has soft and quite natural fine appearance covered with fine fibers and is not similar to monotonous simple surface of the conventional plastic goods in apperance, and is rich in market value, can be obtained.
69 Printed loop fabric and method for producing the same US10305602 2002-11-27 US06910353B2 2005-06-28 Michael P. Sasser; Kenny Greene; Howell B. Eleazer; John M. Blackman
The present invention relates generally to a printed loop fabric with improved graphic visibility and clarity which may be used as the female portion of a mechanical closure system. The loop fabric is generally comprised of a knit fabric, and more specifically, of a warp knit, weft inserted fabric. One method of creating the printed loop fabric includes coating the backside of the loop fabric with a thermoplastic material and then printing the face side of the coated fabric. Alternatively, the printed loop fabric may be achieved by applying a thermoplastic material to the backside of the loop fabric and printing on the thermoplastic material. The printed loop fabric may also be produced by applying a thermoplastic material to the backside of a low loop fabric and laminating a pre-printed film to the thermoplastic material. The fabric can be made without sacrificing the fabric's hook to loop engagement strength.
70 Weaving device US568410 1984-01-05 US4564049A 1986-01-14 Rudiger O. M. Allihn
The invention discloses a weaving device, which includes (a) a support base adapted to support a number of weaving needles in spaced substantially parallel relationship; (b) two groups of weaving needles, each needle having a longitudinal axis and being adapted to be supported removably at one end by the support base, each needle further having a needle body, a free projecting tip at one end of the needle body and, remote therefrom, attachment means for attachment of a warp thread; and (c) moving means adapted for causing moving the tips of needles. In one embodiment each needle has (a) an elongated needle body having a longitudinal axis; (b) a locating part at one end of the needle body for supporting it removably in a support base; (c) attachment means for attaching a warp thread to the needle body; (d) a needle tip support at the end of the needle body opposite to the locating part; (e) a needle tip member having a tip and a first and a second side part respectively extending on either side away from a center line passing through the tip; (f) connection means for pivotably connecting the needle tip member to the needle tip support at a point located substantially on the center line of the needle tip and the longitudinal axis of the needle body; and (g) biasing means acting between the elongated needle body and the needle tip member for biasing the needle tip member respectively alternatively in one of two positions, namely in a first position where the one side part projects away from the longitudinal axis of the needle body and a second position where the second side part projects away from the longitudinal axis of the needle body.
71 Jack bar assemblies US942631 1978-09-15 US4172371A 1979-10-30 Barry C. Strong; Eric W. Marriott; William Clayton
In a jack bar assembly for a straight bar knitting machine, a pair of jacks is used for each jack-operated sinker. A first jack mounted on a first pivot has a rear edge engaged by the slurcock. A second jack mounted on a second pivot has a rear edge engaged by a nose of the first jack and a nose which engages and actuates the sinker. An increased mechanical leverage provided by the cooperating first and second jacks permits reduction in the advance provided by the slurcock and faster smoother operation.
72 Stitch bonded fabrics US423425 1973-12-10 US3967472A 1976-07-06 Arno Edgar Wildeman; David Brunnschweiler
A fleece fabric is produced by first consolidating a fleece into a primary fabric by fleece knitting, and then stitch bonding the primary fabric with warp yarn. The fabric is at least as strong and stable as ordinary stitch bonded fabrics, but has substantially improved pilling and abrasion resistance, and a much wider range of patterning and surface texture possibilities.
