A crane for loading and unloading a cargo includes multi-stage trolley. The multi-stage trolley for a crane includes a first trolley movable in a longitudinal direction along a boom of the crane; a second trolley movable in a lateral direction on the first trolley; a hoisting wire provided in the longitudinal direction along the boom; spreader connected to the hoisting wire through the first trolley and the second trolley and supported by the hoisting wire, the spreader being movable in a vertical direction according to a movement of the hoisting wire. The multi-stage trolley further includes a sheave block unit for changing a direction of the hoisting wire to maintain a vertical level of the spreader constant when the first trolley and/or the second trolley is moved.

A remote controlled slack pulling log skidding carriage is provided for feeding a slack drag line toward a log to be skidded. A drive sheave rotatably mounted in the carriage is operated by a hydraulic motor. The fluid to operate the hydraulic motor is stored in one or more accumulators, and a radio controlled valve starts and stops the flow of fluid to the motor. A mechanically operated hydraulic pump also is provided to recharge the accumulators during a skidding operation.
196 | Control apparatus for a distribution crane equipped with a cable bucket | US62046 | 1979-07-30 | US4343406A | 1982-08-10 | Jean Noly |
The bucket lift of a distribution crane is controlled by a device which includes a single drum hoist. A second single drum hoist is used to shut the bucket by means of two cables routed on the two pulleys located on the tip of the boom. The movement of the distribution carrier along the boom of the crane is controlled by a distribution hoist which includes two drums that are bound in rotation with the two drums of the lifting and shutting, through an epicyclic gear set. As the dsitribution hoist is activated, the bucket moves horizontally, thus reducing the amount of strain put on the distribution hoist, as well as the cable wear.

A running gear is guided by a carrying rope and movable along the same. A crane housing is connected to said running gear. A pullback rope is secured to the crane housing and operable to pull said crane housing along said carrying rope. A lifting rope pulley formed with a peripheral groove is mounted on a shaft which is mounted in said crane housing. A lifting rope trained around said lifting rope pulley in said groove is adapted to be paid out from said lifting rope pulley by a rotation of the latter in a predetermined sense. A storage drum is mounted on said shaft and non-rotatably connected to said lifting rope pulley. A payout rope is wound on said storage drum and operable to be unwound from said storage drum so as to rotate the same in said predetermined sense. At least one pressure roller is associated with said lifting rope in said groove. Pressure-applying means are provided for forcing said pressure roller against said lifting rope in said groove. Drive means are provided for positively driving said pressure roller at a peripheral velocity which is equal to the peripheral velocity of said lifting rope in said groove as said payout rope is unwound from said storage drum.
