CONSTITUTION: The treated water in the tank 1 is overflowed as fresh water from the upper part and at the same time a mixture of polluted water, activated sludge, and a part of fresh water is extracted from near the border between the sludge layer 2 and the fresh water layer 3 in the tank through the pipe 6. And, the mixed liquid so taken out is supplied to a cylindrical bubbler arranged vertically and the enriched oxygen gas 13 is blown into the bubbler. The tank 1 is also connected with the settler 10 which is connected to the bubbler with a pipe. Thus, an effectivel circulation of liquid can be attained between the tank 1 and the aerator 8 only by slightly rising the liquid level of the bubbler 9 by means of the rising force of the enriched oxygen gas blown into the bubbler 9, and the upper part of the tank 1 can be made serviceable for both fresh water layer and sedimentation basin purposes.
