CONSTITUTION: Waste water 1 containing oil is fed to a floating separation tank 3. Water thus removed from most oil content is fed to a biological treating tank 4 to be treated as activated sludge process, rotary disk process or the like of biological treatment. Then, the water is precipitated with sludge in a settling tank 5. The settled sludge is returned to the tank 4, but partly introduced into a mixture tank 6, in which the sludge is mixed partly uniformly with oil content separated in the tank 3 to be fed to an air pressure tank 8. Compressed air is fed under pressure via a pressure pump 9 to the tank 8 to retain the internal pressure of the tank 8 at 3 to 5 kg/cm
2 , and the sludge is stayed for 5 to 15 minutes therein. Then, the sludge is fed to the tank 3 to thereby release the pressure. The sludge floc is pressurized in the pressure tank to be pulverized to thus contain sufficient soluble air. The oil content is finely pulverized by the release of the pressure to be attracted to air bubbles at pressure releasing time to be floated as scum and to be thus separated at the upper portion in condensate.
