A bacteria immobilized carrier 28 is arranged in the reactor 14a to treat sewage with bacteria. The sewage biologically treated in reactors 14a, 14b is sent to the upper part of a sand filter tank 16 from the bottom part of the reactor 14b. The sand filter tank 16 is arranged to the final stage of a purifying tank to prevent the outflow of suspended sludge.
