CONSTITUTION: The waste liquid of a silicone solution used for the manufacture of a bulb, such as an instantaneous start type fluorescent lamp, equipped with a wire as a starting conductor on the external surface of a glass tube is collected in a plastic tank. A slight amount of an alkali solution of, for example, caustic potash, ammonia, ethanol amine, etc., is added into the tank by being stirred. Further, 0.5W 1wt% fine particles of, for example, silicate anhydride, aluminum oxide, calcium pyrophsophate, etc., is added to and suspended in the silicone waste liquid. Consequently, the fine powder serves as nuclei in gelling silicone, and silicone is gelled to increase the speed of sedimentation remarkably, thus, shortening the separation time of silicone to about one-third.
