1. Window structure for installation in either a vertical or right or left horizontal position including a frame having a head, jambs and a sill, at least one fixed sash including jamb adapter extrusions mounted on the frame jambs having one end engaged with the frame head and the other end engaged with a frame check rail which check rail secures the jamb adapter extrusions in position on the frame jambs, and at least one sash adapted to be moved in the plane of the window and tilted about one edge thereof out of the plane of the window.
2. Structure as set forth in claim 1 wherein the movable sash includes sash jambs in spaced relation to the jambs of the window frame when the sash is in the plane of the window.
3. Structure as set forth in claim 1 wherein the jamb adaptor and frame jambs include means for slidably mounting the jamb adaptor extrusions on the frame jambs.
4. Structure as set forth in claim 3 wherein the means for slidably mounting the jamb adaptor extrusions on the frame jambs includes tongue and groove structure on the jamb adaptor extrusions and frame jambs interfitting to permit sliding movement of the jamb adaptor extrusions longitudinally of the frame jambs and to prevent removal of the jamb adaptor extrusions from the frame jambs by movement of the jamb adaptor extrusions transversely of the frame jambs.
5. Structure as set forth in claim 1 wherein the jamb adaptor extrusions are miter cut at one end and square at the other end whereby jamb adaptor extrusions of exactly the same length may be formed by centrally square cutting an extrusion having miter cut ends.
6. Structure as set forth in claim 5 wherein the ends of the jamb adaptor extrusions adjacent the frame head are square cut and the ends of the jamb adaptor extrusions engaged with the frame check rail are miter cut and the ends of the frame check rail are miter cut to match the miter cut ends of the jamb adaptor extrusions and are secured to the jamb extrusions.
7. Structure as set forth in claim 6 wherein the jamb adaptor extrusions are secured to the ends of the frame check rail.
8. Structure as set forth in claim 1 wherein the jamb adaptor extrusion is an elongated member having a cross section which in assembly with the jamb adaptor includes a first section extending inwardly of the window structure and parallel thereto having a groove at one end and a tongue at the other end thereof for slidably securing the jamb adaptor structure to the frame jamb in conjunction with a complementary tongue and groove on the frame jamb, a second section extending from the inner end of the first section outwardly of the window structure and substantially perpendicularly thereto having a plurality of recesses therein for receiving a glazing strip and a third section depending from the end of the second section furthest from the window structure inwardly of the window structure and parallel to the plane thereof adjacent which a glazing panel is abutted.
9. Structure as set forth in claim 8 wherein the jamb adaptor extrusions are miter cut at one end and square at the other end whereby jamb adaptor extrusions of exactly the same length may be formed by centrally square cutting an extrusion having miter cut ends.
10. Structure as set forth in claim 9 wherein the end of the jamb adaptor extrusions adjacent the frame head are square cut and the end of the jamb adaptor extrusions engaged with the frame check rail are miter cut and the ends of the frame check rail are miter cut to match the miter cut ends of the jamb adaptor extrusions and are secured to the jamb extrusions.
