CONSTITUTION: An amide-aldehyde resin, preferably urea-formaldehyde resin, is prepared in the presence of an appropriate amount of 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile, or 2,6-dichlorothiabenzamide or its N-methylolated product, preferably its dust of 100W300μ particle size to produce the objective gradually effective herbicidal composition. The active principle may be added at any stage, e.g., at the monomer stage or after the formation of prepolymers or in portions at different stages. The proper amount is 5W25% based on the composition.
EFFECT: Diffusion caused by volatilization is greatly reduced even at high temperature and it can be used also in summer. Further, it has a prolonged residual effect.
