2 or Cr
2 O
3 with a specific Pb-Nb-Mn-Zr-Ti-O compd. and calcining the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: This porcelain compsn. is produced by mixing the MnO
2 and Cr
2 O
3 with the compsn. expressed by formula I (X is 0.05-0.20; y is 0.80-0.95; x+y≤1) at 0.5-1.0wt.% of the weight of said compsn. and calcining the mixture. The compsn. expressed by formula I is obtd. by adding the compsn. of formula III as a component to the porcelain expressed by formula II (0 3 or PbTiO
3 or both of the porcelain of formula II with formula III. This porcelain compsn. has a low dielectric loss and can be lowered in the calcination temp.; further, the compsn. is capable of maintaining the high pyroelectric effect in a wide temp. region. The service temp. range can be widened when this compsn. is applied to an IR detector, etc.
